"Underwater" also hints heavily that we will see the origins of the Reapers as cuttlefish though.

Not cuttlefish, these guys. http://www.mariowiki.com/blooper

So if get high up on mushrooms, we can defeat the Reapers without the Crucible.

thats just crazy enough to be awesome.

Line about the submersable suggests underwater level perhaps

An underwater level would be interesting.

As long as it's not like Manaan from KOTOR

Theory:

Leviathan is the Thorian on Feros.

Thorians are what Starbingerkid forced into becoming Reapers.

Discuss.

BOOM.

FULL CIRCLE.

But PS3 owners don't have Feros in their saves

Bioware have explicitly stated that they won't be releasing any more dlc related to the endings. I'm inclined to be believe them. I am thus inclined to not give them any of my money or benfit of the doubt that they'll create anything of value.

They have a big fail stamp right across their forehead. Any DLC, paid or unpaid, I'll be watching on youtube if I care enough.

This doesn't have to be related to the endings.

See, Bioware can be tricky about these things lol. "Related to the endings" can just mean any DLC that is directly involved with Cerberus Base/London/Citadel.

Adding options for ending stuff does not  = 'related to the endings' unless they explicity state so here or elsewhere. Until then, we can say: "Leviathan is related to the Reapers and their history and is not related to the endings." even if it actually adds stuff to the ending sections.

A Reaper traitor would nullify the Control ending, because it would show that you can't control them and there is a permanent danger if they are alive.

This was a suspected danger of the control ending from day one, which I why I thought it was a bad idea.  That, plus it would end Shepard's relationship, obviously.

I thought most of the Retakers had the notion that having an AI (with circular logic) controlling the previously-established ominous and independent Reapers was the stem most of the endings' problems. Now many on this thread seem to be enthusiastic about the prospect of having a DLC revolving more about this Catalyst...

Okay.

As much as I would like that to be the case I'm having trouble believing that "no DLC will be related to the endings" is anything other than DLC that adds nothing in any way whatsoever to the endings. Believe me, I would love to be proven wrong on this.

But anyway. Bioware evidently have lost the ability to write good stories. I can't bring myself to ever want to give them my money and simply watching youtube will ensure I don't have to.. I'm a bit jaded at this point lol. Remember the IT? A lot of people thought they had an ace up their sleeve. Bioware proved a lot of people wrong on that fateful day.

Fo me it's because his "circular logic" as you call it is intended now.

He thinks he is saving us with this cycle, but the way this cycle got started is because he followed the pattern he is trying to stop. He rebelled againts his creators. He turned them into something horrible.

So, having a DLC about the last of the people that created th Catalyst could be very cool, yes.

I think the EC changes a lot of peoples opinions on the subject.

I agree.
But what do you think ?
Is Leviathan an organic being or an actual Reaper (or Proto Reaper) ?

It must be a Proto Reaper, and based on the info we have it might be organic with organs for components.

Maybe this was the Catalysts first attempt at synthesis (as he mentions that there were several attempts at it)

i dont go on the internet for a few days and this thread has turned to grasping at straws and the thorian....really the thorian? dialogue was posted near the beginning of the thread where shep asks starkid if the "Leviathans" created him. im pretty sure shep would know the difference between the thorians and the leviathans. this thread has turned into a game of telephone. i cant imagine what the new speculation with be about...
still excited for this dlc tho.

Leviathan seems to be a thorian.

This thread has been discussing that theory, Thorians and other ideas related to ME1's link to ME3

It's still very possible that the Leviathans are the protheans (or vice versa).

1) species in mass effect have had duo names (collectors/protheans)

2) in Mass Effect 1 the thorian is called "THE THORIAN" as in 1 thorian -- perhaps it's a name for a single Leviathan like harbinger and sovereign are names for single reapers.

Just saying it's possible and people are talking about possiblities. We are enjoying the discussion and seeking out the options that come to mind. It's not a game of telephone. Just speculative fun. =]

Oh god...
I'm getting horrific flashbacks to that 'leak' where ME4 will be about Shepard 'coming back' from the dead as the Catalysts mind puppet and riding around the universe on a 'good' reaper, an elcor, and various other squad mates.

Does a DLC about a 'traitor Reaper' not sound like the beginnings of this terrifying plot?

Leviathan DLC = ME3EC (Extra Cut Edition) lol
This does sound like a great idea fo some decent DLC, and tbh I think with the EC still 50/50 in a lot of peoples view this would be a good and fair guesture as soem futher FOC DLC.
With the EC still full of pot holes like an english road, it would make sense that "if" they were to consider this DLC then MAYBE, just maybe they could re-jig the EC one last time BUT THIS TIME kepp EA out of the office when they put it together and make it live.
Being a huge fan of the ME trilogy it is owed the ending it deserves. BW Step Up & Deliver! Image IPB

Oh! Oh! I want an Elcor squadmate!  I can see it now!

(explosions and gunfire)

Elcor Squadmate: "Snide exultation: I pwned ur azz."

I can barely stop laughing long enough to type...that would be epic.

It does, and even though they quickly denied the authenticity of that leak, I still think it was a genuine proposal.

Where did this leak come from? I want it to burn my eyeballs with the horrific truisms.

So is that extra dialogue with the Catalyst supposed to be in the DLC, or is it cut from the main game?
