So, it IS a rogue reaper ?
This is going to be fascinating then...

I don't view it as at all fascinating, sounds like a cheesy abomination. Really hope that if this flops horribly(as it sounds atrocious imo) that it doesn't kill any other better SP DLC from occurring.

There will always be the Retake Omega thing, if you happen to like Aria. =]

Well i like the sound of Petrovsky & the possibilities of an Omega DLC but am not counting my chickens that it will happen as a DLC.

I just hope that Harbinger will have some involvement in this.

I think Leviathan is a reaper itself. In all the leaked dialog, they use 'it' to refer to Leviathan. If they were refering to a survivor of the first race named 'leviathans', they would have said 'a leviathan' instead of 'leviathan'
Also this line.

If Leviathan is a defector--a Reaper that broke away from the others--then it is also a traitor.

And then there is another line where EDI (supposedly) talks about mental restraints similar to her shckles and something about 'why add the sensation of darkness or cold'.

So I think Leviathan is most likely a reaper.

These are lines from the DLC ending dialogues. They are not used in original or extended cut ending. Most likely they will be used when this DLC is relased

The Leviathan's created you, didn't they?
Tell me what you know about the Leviathans.
But you turned on the Leviathans. You harvested them.
Who is OLD TONGUE NAME OF HARBINGER?
The first Reaper. In this cycle, amongst your kind, it is known as Harbinger.

So yes it mentions about Harbinger and its origins

So wait. If a Reaper CAN become a traitor...wouldn't the Control ending kind of be a problem? I mean, apparently they can go rogue, so what is preventing others from doing the same...?

My best guess would be that Leviathan was the very, very first (proto) Reaper, even before Harbinger.
This one might be created by the Leviathan race itself and not the Catalyst.
This could be the reason why it is kind of independent, and not in a connected network (controlled by the Catalyst) like the others are.

The first civilization was forced by catalyst to become a reaper. And the system work only if the entire race is converted to repears or destroyed. So guess Leviathan was created by the Catalyst. The first created the Catalyst and then the catayst got this idea of repaers in its tiny little head and harvested its creators (according to conversation with ctatllyst and hidden dialog lines)

But I wonder how the ctatlyst managed to harvest them all - robots perhaps?

According to conversation with Sovereign in ME1, this is HIGHLY possible. Sovereign says each reaper is complete and independent. He says each repaer is like a nation. He also says they were here from the beginning and they were not created by anyone. But in ME3 ending, the catalyst tells a whole different story. Apparently one of them must be a liar - which proves that they can go rouge and cannot be trusted :D

This dlc sounds very interesting and i hope it provides some much needed insight on the reapers and their relationship to the catalyst,,, such as if he controls the how can they rebel etc. Also I hope bioware ads cupl extra scenes with leviathan during the earth battle, nothing major or ending changing but just a sweet reaper on reaper fight because that sounds way too awesome of concept not to show off.

Well, given how you see the ships during the cut scenes, I think that it would be obvious if you have a reaper and should definitely get put in, imo. Or, there's thoughts that somehow, you might get a new party member. That would be fantastic (not the female scientist, mind you).

Would be great if we got Leviathan as a squad member (Yeah it sounds weird) but think about it Shepard and another squad member take on the ground enemy forces while Leviathan takes care of the other giant Reapers. Of course i dont see that happening just saying it 'd be great and it could change the entire game.

Definitely, although anything that changes the game so much might not work with the mechanics of the game, itself. Unfortunate but true. Reason why we didn't get to fight TIM at the end of ME3 (according to the captions in the Art Book) and instead fought Kai Leng.

Exactly but learning the origins of the Reapers and the Catalyst is enough for me plus we might get a cutscene with Leviathan versus another Reaper (maybe Harbinger) which would be awesome and i really hope they give Harbinger a few lines with the original VA of course.

Someone here described what bioware is doing is leaving a bread crumb trail. So that would mean that after reading the leaked dialogue and knowing that the reapers were made in the image of their creators and they just so happen to look like squids thus their creators were most likely an aquatic species then do we assume the underwater atlas pic is a confirmation that leviathan is not a reaper but a leviathan? Fits with some of the dialogue such as leaving them in their abyss and the reapers not fully exterminating their creators.

So Bioware are making us buy information that should have been in main game & trying to make synthesis as the best option.
The information here will be irrelevant because it should have been in the game at launch.
It also make me think that synthesis wasn't planned from the start of me 3

Lair of the shadow broker and arrival should have been in there as well, but they weren't because that's how gaming in the internet age is.

What's the point of recruiting a rogue reaper when you know how grim it ends, and if it were not for luckily firing off a Catalyst, the forces recruited wouldn't matter as Refusal ending showed.

This is not the same it's about information about the creators of the reapers & information on synthesis.
It's the most important information in the game.

Interesting assessment and even the name "Leviathan" makes one think of something that lives in water.

Hopefully the underwater adventuring (if indeed true) is less annoying than the experience on Manaan in KOTOR.

Could be, but on the other hand, there is this interview with voice actor Anthony Skordi who confirmed that he plays the rogue Reaper named Leviathan.

So I'm not sure.
