Simply amazing. I got so much hyped now and interested.

I want more HARBINGER! So the race/species that created the Reaper machines and the Catalyst are the Leviathans species. And later Catalyst used these Reaper machines and created a completely new Reaper and put the Leviathans liquid form inside of that shell and it was named Harbinger.

Maybe the Leviathan was the second species or second to be made after Harbinger? And maybe from the same species? The first species, the creators, they made not 1 sovereign-class ship but 2?

I'm willing to bet Leviathan is the last surviving member of Starbrats creators. My guess is the Leviathans were actually the first Reapers enslaved through a botched synthesis attempt by Glowboy. It did say it had tried it before. Harbinger was the first "true" Reaper by means of the harvesting process.

Still don't get it. Harby is said to be the first Reaper, made of Catalyst's creators. So who is Leviathan, if he has the same name as the race that created the Catalyst?

Maybe Leviathan was the second Reaper made of the Catalyst's creators but something went wrong, the Catalyst couldnt control him and he went rogue killing another Reaper and branded a traitor by the other Reapers. That's as far as i can guess. The only way to know for sure is to get the DLC when it comes out.

umm....no it doesn't......just because the Leviathan DLC is exploring the origins of the Reapers, doesn't contradict anything.....Harbinger was the first Reaper.....which means he was the first Leviathan that was twisted and harvested into a Reaper.....the Leviathan of Dis, is simply another one

So the Leviathans are the one's who created the Citadel AI? Who decided their would always be a struggle between organics and synthetics and created the cycle (maybe unintentionally) by creating the AI solution. Reapers look like Leviathans because the were the first Reapers, harvested as mentioned in the Extended Cut. I guess the DLC let's you discover the origin of the Reaper idea and it's fruition.

The DLC Leviathan is organic, just very long lived (functionally immortal) and the Reapers were built to look like their creators.

Leviathan isn't a Reaper or part-reaper or a proto-reaper it's just a huge organic that looks like a Reaper and has abilities similar to (but not the same as) a Reaper because the Reapers abilities were based on their creators natural abilities.

Any speculation that squadmates in the leaked dialogue involving Reapers is set _before_ the final big reveal in the DLC and always framed as a question. The _statements_ about Leviathan all talk about it being the last of the creators.

None of this has anything to do with the _actual_ Reaper that the Batarians found that was nicknamed "The Leviathan of Dis" by the Batarians or the synthesis ending

• Leviathans create the Reapers (As servants, in their own image, and size)
• Reapers rebel
• Leviathans create the Catalyst to resolve the Reaper rebellion thinking that it is suitably shackled to preserving "peace" and (After much research) give it the ability to take over the Reapers (Much like what Xen wanted)
• Catalyst has to solve a problem that has almost no teneble solution and so comes up with the cycle, assumes control of the Reapers and gives them a new purpose
• Reapers go and harvest all but one of the Leviathans, stuffing the resulting goo and knowledge into one of them, making Harbinger
• The Catalyst never _directly_ kills anyone and is following it's programming to the best of it's ability, the Reapers do the dirty work and eventually all get upgraded to synthetic+goo status, then they build more as they need them
