For some reason I thought the best you could get is Princess-consort.

Kill everybody there (Ferelden) and you can call yourself whatever you want. I'm going for Superemperor.

I goaded Alistair into sacrificing himself.
This is your downfall.
Remember Alistair said it himself that when he falls in the battle, Anora takes the throne.
Listen to what the king/your husband say next time, maybe.
Downfall, indeed. I, on the other hand, didn't get to be queen because I wasn't human. Dalish elf. Doesn't matter who they are; humans can be veeeeeeeeeery anti-elf. Anyway, I didn't get to be queen either, even with Alistair as king. He told me I was awesome, though, and a hero, and all that.

I mean the female Noble has essentially the same rank of nobility that Anora had before marrying Cailan, so why does she get Queen and you get Princess?

Why bother, I'm super-bad-arsed... just let the blight do my dirty work, come out of my cozy dark-spawn-free Warden's keep after all the pesky people are dealt with, kill the arch demon and watch all the darkspawn run away and I will rule alone in an empty country that still smells strangely of wet dogs and rotting garbage.

Which begs the question as why you end up as Princess-consort.

From Wikipedia: A princess consort is the female equivalent to a prince consort.
It is a title or more informal designation normally given to a princess
who is the wife of a sovereign prince. It may also be given to the
spouse of a king, if the designation queen consort
is not used, or more informally, may even describe the family position
of any woman who marries into certain royalty, as long as she has
obtained her own title of Princess.
Soooooo... I guess you could just call yourself Queen Consort and be happy.

You weren't queen. You weren't married yet. When did the ceremony occur? You were going to be queen. But that was contingent upon the Alistair surviving to marry you. You can't off the groom before the wedding and still expect to get married.Rishavs wrote...
@Taleroth: I was queen. It came in the dialog option. Alistair referred to me as queen. I was engaged to him. So yep, I was queen. goddamnit!
Being engaged doesn't make you Queen. Especially considering that even that isn't formalized until after the Archdemon fight.
to put it simply, I had to be queen as there was simply noone else that could take the crown. That was the whole logic for my plan anyway. Anora was in prison for treason against the last king. As the bethroted to the last king, I was of course the natural choice for it. heck, in the ceremony i was actualy expecting the dialog where i push her off the stairs and take the crown.
Wow. I really hope you are never ever in charge of making any kinds of decisions ever.
And this is the most hilarious thing I've read all day - the idea that you thought you would get the throne.

*reads around on Wikipedia some more* Hmm. I think that princess-consort and queen-consort are basically the same thing. Go read about Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall; she's going to be called Princess Consort whenever Prince Charles gets to be king. She's going to be *called* Princess Consort, but legally will be Queen Consort.
Therefore, I think they're the same thing! So, if you let Alistair live and become princess-consort, you're becoming queen. Yes?

Alastair "Put her in the tower for now, if I fall against the blight, she can have her throne. If not, then we'll see."
Anora "You would give me a chance for the throne, after all this."
Alastair "I said if I fall Anora, if I fall, the throne falls to you, I won't kill you whilst there is a chance that can happen, someone has to take this blight seriously!"
Anora "That is uncharacteristically wise of you!"
Alastair "Yes well, don't let it get around, I have a reputation" (sooo love the way he says this, with his head turned to the side).
Thus, you had zero entitlement to the throne whilst Anora did.

yah you hit the no-brain bug. It's said MANY MANY MANY times that YOU have NO CLAIM to the throne. you were only claim THROUGH ALISTAIR and HE DIED....meaning ANORA WAS THE ONLY ONE LEFT WITH A CLAIM.
I see nothing wrong with this and your nerdrage over it is idiotic.
learn to read next time. you taking over as sole queen when Alistair is now dead is what would make no sense

except that this is completely different from my playthrough. Alistair didn't say she could have the throne. In fact in my playthrough he didn't get her imprisoned to sort it all out later. the whiney reasoned that "But I can't kill her. I guess we'll put her in a tower or something."Sir Ulrich Von Lichenstien wrote...

SO the only reason she was kept alive was because Ali was a royal ****. Considering that a ruler had her imprisoned for treason and duiddent and royal orders still hold even if the royalty dies, Anora had zero entitlement to the throne.

Anora is technically STILL QUEEN UNTIL ALISTAIR BECOMES KING. So when he died...OH! LOOK! THE QUEEN, THE REAL QUEEN, IS STILL ALIVE!

ALISTAIR WAS ALREADY KING. THE LANDSMEET CALLED HIM AS HIS HIGHNESS. HE MADE EAMON HIS REGENT. ONLY A KING CAN MAKE A REGENT FOR A KINGDOM. ANORA WAS IN PRISON FOR DISSENT. ROYAL ODERS STAND AFTER THE DEATH OF THE KING. REGENT ALSO COUL:DN"T HAVE LET HER LOOSE AS HE WAS DEAD.
Alistair says that when he comes back he will again pick up his duties as a king. which means he was already the king but just giving the regency to Eamon for the duration of the war.
Since everone already recognised him as king, a coronation was not required. it has only ceremonial value. thats why he could postpone it till the war's end and still give out decrees. he also appointed me as his general.
finally, it was publicly proclaimed that he was to have me as the queen. we were already engaged though the actual marriage was to happen after the coronation.
thanks you. finally a word in my favor. whenever in european nobility, a queen was deposed, the title was taken from her and lesser titles like Princess etc were allowed. Mostly the deposed person was referred again by the title they received at birth (like earl, duke etc)cynicalsaint1 wrote...

Do tell, what constitutes Anora's supposedly superior claim to the throne?
Several people have made this statement now and I just don't see a basis for it. Unless I missed something, her claim is entirely based on the fact that she was for a short time married to a now-deceased king of the Theirin bloodline. Which is... pretty much exactly the same as the player's claim, if you followed the original poster's path of marrying Alistair and then letting him take one for the team.
And in any event, it's sidestepping the question of why were we forced to keep Anora alive?, which I found to be the bigger problem in this scenario.

Anora was married to a king. A female noble PC is engaged to a man who is crowned king only if he survives.
Yes, the Landsmeet recognizes him as the next king, but he is not crowned until after the battle, and you do not marry him until after the battle. When he goes into battle, he is the crowned prince, the heir to the throne, but he is not king. Therefore, her marriage trumps your engagement.
