So with the whole character card change, I guess PSP's are the obvious choice now?

But I guess they have no downside, eh? Would like to hear some thoughts.

It's possible they've increased the UR drop rate (it'll be interesting to see new "statistics" from those who play a ton and save credits or spend RL money) but without knowing that for sure I'd have to assume that you'd simply get the new rares with the same [supposedly] 10% ultra-rare drop rate.DarthRevan4life wrote...
That's what I'm trying to figure out. I have all weapons at X except UR's and promotional and pretty much every character maxed out...so does that mean my UR drop rate should increase now that I won't be getting character cards?

I don't think they've thought this through thoroughly...there has to be something you can keep getting over and over or the system will be forced to give you ultra rares

Then lets all exploit this while we can and get our UR weapons to 10 before they fix it lolMillafan4526 wrote...
you'll just get "different" rares more often

That's only true if they implemented in steps - stopping/slowing character card drops and then later adding new rares. Folks have already said that they've bought PSPs since the announcement and still got gold CCs. I suspect the announcement was premature and/or the wording was poor.Millafan4526 wrote...

It's my understanding the new items will be some form of new ammo consumables. So you will be getting buckets of them. But hey, it's something you can actually use, unlike that krogan sentinel who's at level 20 that you already maxed out three months ago..

what are you 3 talking about?i bet the ammo powers will be unlimited, why would Bioware change the store so that it is forced to give you URs.there will be nothing you can exploit.
on another note.so ,if we have maxed all characters does that mean that packs are forced to give us gear slot equipment aswell?i still havent maxed Warfighter or Expert.

Ammo has a limit right? 255 like the other consumables? If so then what do we get after maxing the rare ammo? UR weapon cards? Just hoping something like that happens although maxing rare ammo could take a very long time.BXpress2 wrote...

depends.youll need 1020 ammo powers to get to that point.that means 510 PSPs.which again means 50490000 credits.sounds like a lot of work.i retract the first comment.though it will not be done in one week.thats for sure.

Packs are not truly "random" in the sense that they give you certain guarantees.
If you buy a Premium Specter Pack, it will include at least two rare cards. Those rare cards can be a number of things. They can be weapons, character cards, gear, or item limit increases. Once you have a given weapon at rank X, it is removed from the pool of items that can appear in that slot. The same goes for gear and item limit increases, but not for character cards. Character cards can always appear in a rare slot, and if you have an item maxed out like a weapon, gear or item limit increaser, your chances of getting a character card increase. In addition, each guaranteed rare item in the pack has the chance of being an Ultra Rare (roughly 4.5% per slot, so 9% total per pack), and nothing changes this percentage. You ALWAYS have this 9% chance for at least one Ultra Rare to appear in a Premium Specter Pack.
What BioWare has done with this change is to make character cards act like weapon cards, and placed a new item in the queue. So once a character has all available options unlocked, its card will no longer appear. In place of items that can no longer appear, there is another item after this change that will take up that space. Rare ammo. So all they have done is taken away the near useless item that will appear in large numbers and given us a more useful item in its place.
This does NOT mean your chances of getting a particular rare card has increased. In fact, the chances of getting a particular rare card in a pack were never any different before. It just looked like there was a higher probability of getting character cards because at some point, all slots eventually became character cards. Now, every slot will become rare ammunition, and character cards will go back to their initial rarity (IE their rarity before they started appearing in every other slot that was already maxed).
What this DOES mean is that any character card you get should be a new unlock of some sort. In other words, no more duplicate cards for maxed out characters, and once all characters are maxed out, and everything else is maxed, all you should get in any pack is this new ammo, with the same chance as before to get Ultra Rare weapons.
Make sense?

the only question is whether Bioware will cap the rare Ammo at 255 as they do with all other equipment.i doubt it.
even if they do.i wrote above youll need 50.5 million credits to max out all Ammo Powers.and that is if you buy PSPs only.not much of an advantage is it? i say , with 50.5 millions youll max all the URs before you can even max the Ammo anyway.ofc unless you start MP from scratch.

If that's the case, I might just stick to regular 'ol Spectre packs... they've never steered me wrong.
