So is the Synthesis ending just one big Gag reel from Bioware? It's easily the worst ending.

I am in complete agreement with you AwesomeAfro.

By the way, where can I get an afro as awesome as yours?

you can't. It's impossible.

:crying:

I just wish they took the time to expand more on the refusal choice.  Could have proven the Indoctrination Theory and made the story infinitely more interesting.

Synthesis was their baby, too bad so many of us hated it.

I think this was good, the EC solidified Destroy as the only sensible option.

which is the way it should be.

We win by killing reapers!

Synthesis is the worst ending ... EVER.

I think a unicorn farted in the writers room the day they wrote the synthesis ending. That one really went from bad to worse.

[I laughed so hard with this one that my mother heard me and now is laughing at me]

Its the choice the writers in the form of the starbrat are actively pushing you to take. That alone is reason enough to reject it.

Mostly all this.

Yeah I tought it was a good ending. Starchild said they needed a new solution. That was a good one.

Synthesis just looks like a joke and not to be meant to be taken seriously. Everybody with glowing green eyes and skin. I couldn't stop laughning. Especially in the scene on the ship with the memorial ..

You mean re-gain sentience. Every husk used to be a human.

I wish I could have seen those family reunions.

"Grandma! You're back! And so much stronger now!"

"Uuuuuuungh!"

But it's just one big joke.

Reapers rebuilding the Galaxy they destroyed, tortured and more or less wiped out? It's absurd to think that people would not be completely horrified of the Reapers. Nevermind letting them help rebuild. It's just an out of touch mess of an ending.

Synthesis is not the worst ending. To me, that's the control ending. I'd say none of the endings are particularly paragon/renegade. Well, I guess destroy is a real renegade ending. Accomplishing the mission no matter the costs. Paragon however.. is definitely not control, or synthesis.

If I had to rate from worst to best, the endings would be in the order: Control, Synthesis, Destroy.

Refusal/rejection is actually my favourite ending when selected, demonstrating the same sort of indomitable spirit Shepard had in the conversations with sovereign and harbinger. But the outcome of the refusal ending.. being wiped out.. well, that doesn't sit well. However, that one could quite possibly be the best paragon ending out of all of them. Just doesn't end with a victory for our cycle.

By the way, after talking over the possible solutions with the starchild, you can access the refusal ending by saying none of the 3 options are good enough. You don't *have* to shoot the starchild.

For me, I can not choose the destroy ending. Not because of the reapers, but because you take the geth with you. Ever since I began playing mass effect I hoped they would join us.

... Unless they don't have a choice but to see Reapers as friends. That has unfortunate implications of its own.

Yeah working with the Reapers after they screwed you over all this time? Hell no. ****ez got to go! I'm still not sure which one is worst Control (really really creepy, I give Shep a few hundred years before he starts leading the reaping) and Synthesis.

Imagine if that happens to you tomorrow or.. right now! You get green flashy eyes, and green digits all over your skin because there is a battle being won on the other end of the universe.
Brr... shivers.

How could you even dream of saying that Destroy is Renagade?

Paragon = Destroy
Renegade = Control
Sick, Twisted, Evil disgusting madman = Synthesis
American Politician = Refusal

The Reapers were not indless killing machines. They have no reason to kill them now.

They are equal beings, might and power play nothing inside of a Reapers mind...But, dare I say it...This is all...

Speculation...

Synthesis is the most interesting, because organics now have access to one billion years of knowledge from previous cycles (within the Reapers). That combined with power over death through synthesis, basically creates this sort of galactic nirvana. Definitely a cool ending.

But...It's just so Anti-Mass Effect.

Shepard essentially dies in order to sign a peace treaty between the galaxy and the reapers, along with making Husks sentient again...

What...

Ever wonder why they chose (a seemingly random color) green for Synthesis?

One word: Cannabis.

You're acting like the others are better. Control gives you what you were supposed to be fighting against, and Destroy leaves everything on reset with the potential for the same outcome in a few thousand years when machines have returned.

I like that synthesis was narrated by Edi. Her I am not alone made me choke up.

I am so excited to replay the series now. what kind of Shepard would choose synthesis? I am thinking a singularly arrogant Shepard maybe a paragon styled evangelist who renegades those that disagree with her ideas.
