So is the Synthesis ending just one big Gag reel from Bioware? It's easily the worst ending.

I like that synthesis was narrated by Edi. Her I am not alone made me choke up.

I am so excited to replay the series now. what kind of Shepard would choose synthesis? I am thinking a singularly arrogant Shepard maybe a paragon styled evangelist who renegades those that disagree with her ideas.

This. This was such a good freakin' idea.

...But now I will never be able to choose destroy and therefore live because I will feel too guilty. THAT'S how much I teared up.

The whole thing was a 1.9gb insult consisting of pretty pictures and a middle finger to refusal people.

lol I am glad the refusal people got a passive aggressive F you from bioware.

You mean she doesn't become a banshee?  Clarify.  (though I never spared her in ME 2 anyway)

No, she does. But she might regain sentience.

Because...Who wouldn't want to know that they have been turned into a Reaper Puppet...

Except Shepard it's still dead. Despite my sarcasm and pseudo trolling, I like this ending, with destroy coming into close second.

It was hard enough to take Synthesis seriously as it was. The new epilogue slides have made that all but impossible.

When I watched Rejection ending and listened to Liara's message, the story started to feel somewhat believable for the first time. It all dissipated of course when we learned that the next cycle somehow defeated the Reapers. How could they do it? You can't beat them conventionally, and the galaxy blew its chances with the magic device. They should've been harvested.

The rest of the endings are just pure space magic, disconnected fantasy.

Yes. This is the purest logic of the 3 and a half decisions. Plus I love the wording.

Maybe. But I just can't see Shepard gambling so hard on a conventional win when she has victory at her fingertips.

Synthesis is just creepy. Very, very creepy. Look at the Husk when he realizes what he is. Now that must be a funny feeling.

Not to mention the Krogan baby. Holy christ that was scary.

Nothing beats destroy or reject anyway.

I was pro-synthesis... but now I am like... WHAT THE **** WAS THAT. Even though Tricia Helfer deserves voice-acting equivalent of Oscar.
The problem is that I am also unable to choose any other ending... Goddamit Mass Effect...
I will go listen to Jennifer Hale refusing Reapers on youtube now

Actually, I always chose Destroy. Personally there was no other option than giving the Reapers a final kick in the crotch.

But when I first watched Synthesis on YouTube yesterday, the part narrated by Tricia Helfer had the most "epic-sci-fi" feel to it... like Dune, for example.

How could you even dream of saying that Destroy is Renagade?

Paragon = Destroy
Renegade = Control
Sick, Twisted, Evil disgusting madman = Synthesis
American Politician = Refusal

Someone doesn't understand Renegade/Paragon at all. Renegade, by the games definition, would pick destroy every time. Paragon would be tempted to try control.

It's still all total nonsense (circuit beards aside, those are awesome). If synthesis actually worked the way BioWare wrote it, there would be massive species extinction of flora and fauna across the galaxy.

The introduction of totally new material into ALL organic life from the macro to the micro, material that requires increased energy usage, would result in a massive upheaval of all ecosystems.

As one simple example among the countless problems: Think about organic decay. Now all organic life has "synthetic" components, does it all decay? does it act like a pollutant on certain planets? that's a massive amount of new material pumped into every ecosystem, the evolutionary balance of life everywhere has been totally turned upside down.

Are processes that gave rise to species based on their evolutionary niche, like pollenation, still around? How many species have lost their evolutionary place in existance now?

These are not new problems with synthesis, the EC only re-emphasized that they are in fact canonized problems.

Creepy ending...everyone with green glowing eyes and wiring...what did Joker say in ME2, something like "I'm going to be a tool cuz it's my fault everyone is sitting around computing pi". Nope, our hero Shep is the tool who has us all sitting around computing pi! Anyone catch the look on synthesized Ashley's face at the memorial? "**** Shepard! WTF???"

I'm still waiting on the epilogue slide depicting the mass suicides of the now sentient Husks, Banshees, Brutes, etc.

I won't lie. It resembles satirical comedies that I studied.

It's absurd. It is EXACTLY what Huxley warned us against.

I laugh at it the same way I do at Showgirls. I'm supposed to take it seriously but it's just SO bad.

I did this too. I actually really liked both of them in the context of the ending we were given.

On-topic: Can we come to some kind of consensus as to the name of the husk? That guy is sadly hilarious.

Synthesis is the Matrix 3 ending.

"I hate you, Reapers"
"I hate you, organics"
*BEHOLD THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP*
*Rainbow*
*Peace on Earth*
*Me puking*
