I have not played the new Infiltrators yet but I'm curious to know the "reasons" of the nerf.

Last week it was mentioned the increasing number of Infiltrators on Gold lobbies. So if a great number of persons play a class it is OP, thus need to be nerfed?
So Mobile phones are OP, please nerf mobile phones (just a little joke Posted Image)

Anyway is Infiltrator still fun to play? I don't care if it is OP or not, I just want to have fun.
-10% bonus is not great deal. 100 points of damage less with Claymore, not a problem after all.

Excellent job, Bioware! The TC changes are 100% fair, I like it a lot and I play infiltrator on gold most of the time. And even though it took some time you addressed the max character card problem which everyone is super happy about!

They messed up the cooldown and duration very badly. This means no rez in the middle of enemy hordes and no hacking objectives for a lot of them. So I'd say it's not fun to play for them.

Wonderful! When I read the changes about packs I thought "I may play this game longer". Now I'm thinking to stop playing. It's a matter of pricniple. I don't like to be ruled by nerfers, no offence intended.

Wut? They nerfed damage for sniper rifles, somewhat excessively in my opinion. But I can still throw out huge damage with a Widow and Javelin. Duration of tac cloak was cut. so you now have to choose between damage and duration.

I'm still going for damage, the rest of the team can pick up the slack when it comes to objectives. That's all that's changed really.

Man... I just respecced my M quarian, human and geth Infils for SG build... It would be harder to get into position this time...

They nerfed Sniper damage at evolution 6 from 40% to 25%, and the base damage bonus for Tac cloak went from 50% to 40%

How that stacks depends on the infiltrator you're using and what weapon set up you're equipped with.

So, now taking duration brings it to the full duration it had before? 13 seconds? Sounds nice, but they could have made it more appealing, people will still go the damage route, which hasn't taken a really big hit. Shotgun infils are probably the ones that got hit harder, but they mostly deserved it. Claymore was simply too good on an infiltrator. The rest of the changes are lovely- specially the weight decrease on mah Wraith I, it now makes it much more Vanguard-viable :)

I think the TC sniper damage nerf was 40% to 25%. That's excessive, considering most damage is blocked by shield gating. 

25% multiplicative.

Widow 1:

867 * (1 + 0.8 (cloak) + 0.2 (passive) + 0.3 (AMP III) + 0.15 (Gear V)) * 1.25 = 2655
867 * 2.55 * 1.4 = 3095
Lost 440 points of damage. Still does massive damage.
Actually it took 3 shots before to kill a Brute or a Ravager, now it takes 4.
It takes 1 extra shot to kill a Banshee (10 vs 11).

Of course the less damage per shot do more extra shots needed.

No the longest duration is 2 seconds shorter it now does not last through an entire objective.

Dumb question... haven't read all the posts to see if it was addressed...

"Evolution 1 duration bonus increased from 50% to 150%".

Evolution 1 doesn't have a duration bonus of 50%, it has a DAMAGE bonus of 50% (or 150%), unless masseffect.wikia is wrong. But then it goes on to say the base damage bonus was decreased from 50% to 40%.

I'm confoozed.

Evolution 1 is a duration increase.
Evolution 2 is a damage increase (of 40%).

GordianKnot: Eric doesn't use the RankX A/B terminology that's common here. So "Evolution 1" is "Rank 4 A" etc.

50% according to the patch notes, but I think you're right and the patch notes are wrong. The wiki says 40% at least.

But that was a 40% increase from a base of 8 seconds, now it's a 150% increase from a base of 4 seconds. And the increase at rank 3 is still 30%, I think.

So before, you'd get 8 seconds*(100+30+40)/100 = 13.6 seconds. Now it's 4 seconds*(100+30+150)/100 = 11.2 seconds. Whereas the damage evolution only gives you 4*1.3 = 5.2 seconds of duration.

Depends how you look at it. Yes, it's certainly still very viable on the damage front and general gameplay. But that major nerf in duration is going to make the disarm objectives somewhat more of a hassle than they were.

Exactly this.
You get your damage bonus, or you can keep hiding, not both.
Good changes all in all.

I can't believe some people continue to think that infiltrators use tact cloak to dump aggro. At most a good infiltrator is cloaked for a second, so for that ONE second there may be increased bullet fire towards you, but after that ONE second they'll be shooting at me also.

We neede longer tan 11.2 seconds IN THE REAL WORLD to cap objectives.  The current cloak is not long enough based on my experience with the new times - especially if the zone around the objecitve is hot.
