I'm glad it was worth it for some. And when I step back, I can acknowledge it truly did fix several glaring issues. I just wish they'd been willing to go that mile or two more, give us just one ending that feels like a real victory. Ah well. Your thanks are appreciated, atleast by me. I of course do not speak for the movement as a whole.Persephone wrote...
As someone who has rolled her eyes at some of the more extreme Retakers...
I want to say thanks. The EC provided nearly everything I had hoped for. (Sorry to those who didn't get that. I know that there are several of you) It's thanks to your persistence, cupcakes, donations etc. that this DLC came about. It enriched my ME3 experience in many ways and I cannot imagine the game without it.
So, from a doubter, once more: Thank you. I know this probably means little to nothing. But I just wanted to express my gratitude & give credit where it's due.
And thank you, Bioware as well.
Thank you, Retake Movement

I don't like the ending as it is and no explanations or cutscenes can change that for my part. I dl'd it but i wont pain myself to hear explanations. I see shepard as a soldier in the alliance navy. Fighting for Earth.. i never hoped for spaceJesus and the rays of cosmic salvation, so the EC is just 2 gb of complete stupid to meMy ME3 ending is end of ME2 or more so after Arrial DLC when meeting Hackett, or possibly in ME3 after Illusive Mans' base. After that it's just Space DA2 Magic Roll the dice of what ending we make gig.. Can't like it with my way of playinjg shepard, not even with the screw you choice i read about. And fact Geth IV exists in certain circumstances or why Destroying Rachni has no impact. ME3 is just pure Garbage compared to ME1 and 2 in my opinion cause it turns out the way it does. And saving council.. did nothing.. deny specter status in ME2 did nothing.. Pha.. ME3 is odd but fun to play, Not sure i'd put it as Mass Effect 3 tho, maybe ME v3, the standalone you can add some variety to at it's best. We play ME 1 and 2, and our choices can have ramifications in ME3, and CAN certainly was valuable here for bioware, they didnt have to gove a damn and actually do so.
Just happy some people got what they hoped for.
How can you only compare ME3 ending to DA2, when whole ME2 is to ME1, what DA2 is to DA:O? Don't get me wrong, ME2 is great game, but the connection, betwin it and ME1 is close to none, except the characters and some memorys of the past

Maybe you thought you didn't like the endings until it was explained to you in a manner similar Sesame Street? There is nothing in the EC that a person with half an imagination couldn't have presumed. I hate how you people must treat literature.Persephone wrote...

Now you're being condescending.

the upgraded soundtracks made even more satisfied, and I am sure that you should give more credit to Bioware for listening to people. You should blame EA for pushing BW to finish the game so quick
How is EA to blame? Did they not give BioWare a delay? I seem to recall the original release date being sometime around "Holiday 2011." They got a few extra months to work on the game.

People "treat literature" in ways that work for them. I would never tell someone how to read a book. What if their imagination is so "good" they think the reapers are made of chocolate or do you just need people to think the same as you?Saul Iscariot wrote...

This was one huge, massive waste of time for absolutely everybody involved and I hate you all. *slams door, goes to bed*

Also Sesame Street is brilliant. I still watch it at 26 and thing is they don't talk down to the audience.

This made me laugh out loud.
I actually hated it at first this morning, but the more I thought about it and after my MaleShep's ending, I have to admit I kind of dig it.

... I liked this. I went in expecting to be utterly disappointed. I instead felt it was extremely well done.
Is it perfect? Oh, hell no. But the fact they managed to address 90% of the massive list of problems the original ending had is impressive. The endings work so much better, the feeling of accomplishment is so much stronger, and the personal investment towards your crew and love interest pays off in dividends.
It's apparent they did listen, they did try, and they did address an overwhelming number of problems people had, and the final product now is significantly more satisfying. It may not be an "A+", but it pretty much went from a flat "F" to an encouraging "B".

As a whole, though, I still think the space magic starchild and "soup dawg i herd u were gonna get killed by synthetics, so i made synthetics to kill you before you get killed by synthetics" is laughable.

The extended cut adds something to the ending it originally lacked and now is somewhat better for the effort. It just couldn't reach the potential some people expected of Bioware.

I'm happy Bioware did it, whether or not they intended to, the effort is there. They should see the EC as something to be proud of, not something to be feared. And remember, a lot more people benefited from ReTake than just grumpy fans

I do not agree with the Starchild idea, but the rest... finally makes my ME3 worth staying.
