What will people whine about next .

It will still be Infiltrators. As long as they are part of this game, there will be butthurt "balance" whiners.

basically

this is what i dont understand about people being happy they changed infiltrators: why are you happy that bw is trying to dictate what characters we, the players, should play?....i dont use infilitrator like that, but so what if people picked infilitrator 33% of the time in gold matches? that's their choice....you, i, nor bw has the right to try to tell anyone what character, class, or weapons to use in the game...

bw says they're listening to the community, but that doesnt seem to be the case...it seems they are listening to the vocal minority, and not the majority....the majority said infilitrators were ok, and that all the complaining is cause people are getting outscored....but they made the changes anyway....i highly disagree with the changes made strictly from a gaming standpoint....this could be a bad sign for things to come, and they just stepped on a slippery slope that could lead to people not playing....

They looked at more than just the 33% statistic, although that WAS still a pretty big indicator that something was wrong.

And "listening to the community" doesn't necessarily mean "doing what the community WANTS". It means they're listening to reasonable arguments for/against choices. If the community draws Bioware's attention to an obviously broken game mechanic, or overpowered class, and Bioware investigates it because the community pointed it out.. NOT just because somebody said "please nerf".. That's still listening to the community. The majority can be wrong.

3. That speaks volumes over what kind of team player you were all along. I wouldn't want you in my team anyway.

Its a two way street.  People that called for the nerf should be left to rot and see their games fail - they asked for it and they'll get their medicine.

Teams that are actually interested in playing together never had a problem with the infiltrators of old, these teams unfortunately are going to get hurt more.  Cause you'll have their glass cannon running to rez someone and dying on the way over there instead.

Its just a lose-lose really.  No one won here. :?

You shouldn't have been able to carry an entire team in the first place. Good for Bioware, knocking this power down off it's glorified pedestal.

We couldn't carry before, we save you from heavies like we were MEANT to.

We saved you when you fell. like we were MEANT to.

But now we can't. And won't even try.

So, because you can no longer simultaneously do everything, you're going to do nothing instead? That seems... less than constructive.

We prefer not to nerf weapons or abilities, but some strategies just become too dominant which hurts replayability. We want to make as many strategies as possible viable on all difficulty levels so the game stays fresh. The vast majority of balance changes have been attempts to bring up weaker strategies so they can compete with the stronger ones.

I only use cloaking to get a powerful shot off, when I play infiltrator. People actually use it to run around cloaked, so as not to have too much aggro on them?

Yeah, believe it or not some infiltrators did use cloak to complete objectives for everyone else's benefit.

Public games are going to be a nightmare now

I cap the objective if they pop up and I'm the Infiltrator. I understand that's my job. It doesn't mean I still can't be the person who also deals some of the most damage in the party. I'll even cap the objectives as a Krogan Vanguard, 1800 health/shields is just as good as being invisible sometimes.

Infiltrators were never meant to carry entire teams. The rest of the team should be good enough not to fall every 5 minutes, too. And it's not like the only way you could EVER revive somebody is if you were an Infiltrator using Tactical Cloak.

The request for balance was made in lieu of the game itself.

Refusing to revive teammates is simply being spiteful.

i think a 4 second base duration is a little on the harsh side. as a male quarian engineer you won't be able to get off a shot anymore after using tac scan since that takes so long!

did some maths and here's what i got:
base duration 4 seconds
rank 3 duration evo +30% = 5.2 seconds
rank 4 evo 2 duration +150% = 13 seconds

pre-nerf if you went duration evo you got 13.6 seconds.

i'm a little disappointed that for making you choose either utility or dmg, they didn't improve the utility at all, actually lost about a little more then half a second =/
hopefully they'll address this in another update, anyone agree?:?

Ahh I suppose you're right - the sado masochists of the ME3 community!

But I'll put money than you'll see those same folks who claim to want a harder challenge start whining when they see infiltrators ignoring objectives and blame them for not choosing the utility option!

Want to know the irony of the situation?

If a infiltrator goes for damage people will complain he isn't a team player.

If he goes for duration people will complain that his damage sucks and he's dragging the team down.

Agree.  If you were able to carry a team because of the character rather than your skill then
it suggests that the changes were needed for balance.

If you can't revive with the new cloak without extra duration, then you weren't very good to start with.

If you can't do objectives with the new cloak without extra duration then you weren't very good to begin with.

If the damage nerf now makes you suck, you weren't very good to begin with.

Overall, very happy with the changes, and I play infiltrator most of the time. I'll still carry gold games regardless of the nerf and watch all the awful infiltrators suffer.

I doubt the nerf is going to affect competent players to the degree that BSN is making it out to.

However, the bad infiltrators are about to get a lot worse... (like 99% of them)

As opposed to trying to cap an objective, and dying in the process?

On a damage specced infiltrator, I'd probably be ignoring the objectives too if my team refuses to help (which is the case in most public games).

I just played a couple of gold games with the changes, on my GI - didn't notice much of a difference at first, until I was capping objectives and the cloak dropped midway through.

Makes things interesting again!

I always played claymore infiltrator anyway.   So, they just  took 10% away, plus they already took 7.5% away from HM on the GI, so they are slowly taking all the damage buffs out of my game.  I'll have to test it out to see if I can tell any difference, but I am not encouraged by the direction this is going.....

IF your team refuses to help. then yes, of course. But he is talking just about ignoring, like suddenly objectives are not his responsibility too, what is somewhat surprising. People just need to stop relying on Infiltrators to do objectives on their own, or learn to appreciate that rare duration Infiltrator.
