It is, however, a balanced enough nerf to make all the flavour of the month, skill-less, crybabies ragequit the class and try out another flavour.

yajuu, they didnt destroy it. 4 seconds is a very long time to aim
But NOT time to revive someone, cap an objective, escape from enemies or ANYTHING else.
they made it so TC is only useful for cloak -> shoot. players.
Given how much whining was done about infiltrators, maybe the whiners will have to make themselves usefull now and cap objectives, let the the infilltrator have fun blowing stuff up.
Justice really.
They can use their medi-gels too.

they nerfed what makes the class useful. ability to sneak around and
get objectives done and deal damage to boss characters.
agree that what's missing after the nerf is Infiltrators' ability of
Infiltrators to simultaneously do everything well. That seems like a
good result from a balance perspective, no?the con of the class is pretty much the fact that infiltrators are squishy and TC helped to alleviate this problem.
They're exactly as squishy as every other class, except they get an aggro management mechanic.
EDIT: Okay, Sentinels aren't squishy. Infiltrators are exactly as squishy as every other non-Sentinel class.Thepersonally
still gonna tech my salarian and geth infiltrators for damage. so imma
let the other people on the team try to get the objective done. give it
enough time and people will start complaining that infiltrators are not
doing their jobs and maybe they'll start asking for a buff
kind of Infiltrator that adapts to the change by refusing to revive
teammates or cap objectives was, in all likelihood, already refusing to
do those things.
personally i believe i play the game
the way its supposed to be played. i will switch classes to complement
the team but overall i like playing infiltrators because i like sniping
(just unlocked that new sniper havent used it yet so i was always one
who took on the boss characters and getting less score than the team
killing the mobs except when i played my SI usually on top) and killing
things with the infiltrator and i did objectives even with my glass
cannon of a GI. i felt it as part of my role when playing as the only
infiltrator on a team. i did objectives regardless of the class most of
the time because playing with randoms manytimes you get those who dont
wanna go after the objectives but i hate losing even to A.I. so i get
the job done
okay admit my wording of squishy is bad. lets just
say they have a tendency of getting shot a lot more when they are
running across the map trying to do objectives. okay sentinels are
tanky, vanguards are also tanky i can get shields back when moving
around map by charging any enemy nearby, soldiers can be tanky with
fortification and adrenaline rush. engineers can distract and stun
enemies with drones, turrents, or decoys not to mention geth turrent
regens shields and stuns weaker enemies just by shooting regular shots.
adepts well they are squishy (with the exception of the justicar) but
they are usually the last characters to go do objectives. main counter
arguement would be only a single infiltrator character which is the SI
being able to regain shields with ED so getting to objectives without
getting dropped as easily.
although i say i would spec my two
favorite infiltrator classes for damage. i still have my male quarian
infiltrator i usually spec him for damage but having arc grenades spec
for tech bursting and debuffing tac scan can be enough. the female is
pretty much useless to me since i dont know if they fixed sabatoge yet
(backfire kills dont count-and hack is kinda funky before target stood
there 4-5 seconds not doing anything then attacking for like 2 seconds).
as for human infiltrators i have always specd them the exact opposite
of one another so thats not a problem but they arent great characters to
begin with
edit: to set things straight i would be arguing for any other class if i find the nerf ridicious, like if they nerf biotic explosions and tech burst to work like fire explosions and cryo explosions where you would have to kill the target for the effect to take place i would be arguing for engineers and adepts. im pretty sure the site would be crashed by the number of people who love their biotic explosions and tech bursts

Nope.
^^^
I might actually play my infiltrator now, specced for duration/utility. I got tired of playing cloak-->shoot-->cloak-->shoot

you could have actually played the class that way before the nerf so
also it was cloak-->use power+shoot, cloak-->use power+shoot. you didnt play the class very effectively

Teams without infiltrators manage to do objectives and revive team mates too. Infiltrators can still do both fairly well.
Tried mine. Gets some getting used to, but even with the duration evolution choice, you still do decent damage, it seems. I'll make do.

I think this is one of the most balanced, well-thought nerfs thus far.
I'll have to dust off an infiltrator and see what kind of damage output I can get with gear and the new level IV ammo you can get. Oh that's right, there are shiny new things which can help counter this nerf, which also happen to help make other classes stronger (another thing people complained about)!
Well played, BW

Funny. A lot of the arguments which were pro-infiltrator were about how infiltrators rez teammates & cap objectives. Why, then, should it be such a hard choice now between damage and duration? I think most infiltrators were really in it for the damage, not the "support."

What class isn't in it for the damage, really? Infils were in the (un)lucky position to have certain objectives designed to take advantage of their strengths, people used that as an excuse to get them nerfed and are acting surprised that Infil players, like just about every other player of every other class out there, enjoys doing damage more than being an objective/revive bot?
They were in a unique position to be able to do both, now they can choose one or the other, which is fine by me, I'll be more than happy to have teams have to learn to use teamwork to get objectives done and not rely on me to solo objectives in a team based game. It's the people who are going to complain about Infils that spec damage that now have a problem.

Whenever i played infil, I was a team player that focused on reviving/capping objectives because i could cloak in, pull someone out of a hot spot, and get out. Now, im not going to do either unless they're literelly right next to me.

The nerf is even bigger than you think, thanks to the multiplier nature of the Rank 6. It still one of the best powers in game. Stop whining.
priceless rarity moment, nice work on that.
i hosted and finished a game a little over an hour ago with a gth infiltrator, testing out my new N7 valiant. what's the deal with all the hate and nerf threads? i lead my team with a final score of over 20,000 points to second place. infiltrators didn't seem nerfed to me, in fact, they still feel the same.

The only thing that was missing was the corresponding buffs to sniper rifle damage to help get spread the "sniper" class around to a few others.
