So I liked it...except for one thing.

Now before I start, I'm going to state I chose the Destroy ending. I did that in the original cut and now in the EC. I have seen every ending so far, and while Control and Synthesis still blow my mind with how....insane they are, destroy is still my preferred choice. Refusal also was just a "what." moment for me.

Now, the biggest issue I had with the original ending wasn't the dream-like state the entire ending was in, the stupid starchild, or any of that crap. It was instead Shepard taking a breath at the very end. This pretty much shows he's alive and either somewhere on the Citadel in rubble (which it doesn't look like) or back on Earth (which doesn't make sense if he fell from the Citadel). Now, I don't care where he is, but I care about him actually being alive.

Now I hoped the EC would resolve that issue. It didn't. I mean, this time instead of putting it after the credits, they just threw it before the credits after that huge slideshow and memorial service for Anderson and Shepard, even if Ashley didn't put Shepard's plaque on the wall. I mean, they directly threw in the exact same scene right at the end...and no follow-up.

I love Shepard and enjoyed playing his story through all three games, and I just want closure on Shepard himself. I want to know is he alive and well or just dead. This implied he's alive, but...there's just nothing. I don't understand.

If there's one thing I can say that I actually loved about the EC it was changing the flash-back sequence of when Shepard destroys the tube to actually show EDI and my LI, in this case Miranda. Also showing Miranda looking to the stars in the slideshow part, I liked that too. I still wish there was more between Shepard and his LI with the EC, but oh well.
