"Failed to Initialize PhysX Hardware Acceleration

Using hardware accelerated PhysX has been requested, but the drivers were out of date.

Please download the latest drivers from nvidia.

FATAL ERROR - EXITING"

I get this every time when I start up Mass Effect 3. This is after I installed the Extended Cut, however I have not played Mass Effect 3 for many weeks so I can't say if it was caused by something else.

I have tried several fixes and a re-installation of Mass Effect 3, none were successful.

I am reading elsewhere from games that do this same thing (it is happening to me too) that you can copy the stuff from NVIDIA Corporation\\Physx\\Common to the game PhysX directory.

I haven't tried it yet myself.

**Update**

Didn't work.

My drivers are:

Your driver is up to date with version 301.42.

Checked the PhysX drivers too and they are newest.

Yea, the physx installation kept bombing on me and I found that I had to run some microsoft fix software on it. Wish I knew where that was now to help you. What my install was doing was that no matter where it was, it would fail to open some file on install.

Typing that error message into google came up with a link on microsoft's knowledge base that had a program that fixed the msi installer error and I was able to complete the installation.
