I was definitely one of the people who was outraged by the original endings. I had four saves, but after finishing my first playthrough, I was unable to go back to any of my other three Shepards. It all just felt pointless.

Now, after playing the EC, I'm very happy to say that I will be returning to my other three playthroughs. I still don't like the endings themselves...BUT, I feel that they were much better executed. They feel much less sudden and they wrap the game up nicely, save for just a few loose ends that left me excited for the next chapter in the Mass Effect universe.

All in all, thank you Bioware! I look forward to what you have in store for us next!

I love you guys this DLC totally made Mass Effect take back its throne with the legends like star wars and lotr (for me at least). i am a little confused because i read that it was going to tell the crew aftermath so i am not sure if i did something wrong but has nothing to do with the DLC itself. i am sorry for my poor english but i just had to tell you how much i have loved and still love the mass effect universe.

I'm really happy with the EC too. Thank you Bioware, I love Mass Effect so much that watching it end with the original endings was really really painful. Now it has a good conclusion (at least in my opinion).

Well, I haven't played it yet since my 360 will be unplayable until this time next week, but from what I've seen, I'm satisfied.

I agree. BW didn't need to do anything. Already parted us from our hard-earned money. But they responded and while the EC isn't perfect it's a vast improvement.

At the end of the day, although the best game I've ever played in nearly 20 years of gaming. It was still only a game and some of the vitriol was over the top.

Done about 3 playthroughs, different LI's, Paragon/Renegade choices and it's all good. Especially like the part just prior to beam becase it makes more sense than your squadmates just stopping then miraculously reappearing on the Normandy.

It would have been nice to have this content in the original game and couldn't we just have Shepard dying here while Anderson spoke to Catalyst. Could have been posthumously decorated and given military funeral.

But anyway, Kudos to Bioware for listening and trying to make up for the disappointment of original storyline.

After a day of negativity regarding the EC all over the internet, it feels so good to read this thread.

I liked it. Well done, BioWare!

Really? You know I went looking, too. Saw a few...bland reviews about the EC. Then stopped. I figured it was just those.

If not, how interesting. I looked at some of the so-called journo review sites, and they were bland. I thought , hmm, the critics loved the original, but not the fans..or not quite a few of the fans. Now, quite a few of the fans like the EC, and the critics are......not so inclined.

Well, critics don't buy video games. Fans do. Along with DLC; Comics and novels...and general swag.

Actually I've even watched my ending of choice again...several times on Youtube. It still makes me say.....(oh, wait. I think I already got redirected to a scolding for almost cussing on the forum)..uh, makes me say--Gee Whiz. Golly Moses. That was sure swell.

I was OK with the endings before the DLC, but I have to say I really REALLY liked the way it ended this time.... what a great series of games. I finished the game feeling the loss of Shepard and his companions, yet was so happy with the ending. Damn, never got the chance to make little blue babies with Liara... :( Please keep putting out the great stories BIOWARE and you will always have my money on release date...... BRAVO BIOWARE BRAVO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! absolutely loved it.

Just finisged EC with one of my playthroughs. I don't know yet about different outcomes, but I want to say "THANK YOU VERY MUCH".

This is the finale the franchise originally deserved.

I chose control, but after, i felt horrible for some reason.  Synthesis all the way!   After this EC, my faith is restored!  Try not to lose it Bioware.  I give the trilogy a 8.5/10.  It was not perfect but, it surely was great.=]

Ending didn´t resolve anything... if the players want to see what will be after using Crucible than I am sorry but you didn´t get nothing special than just what said Catalyst in first version etc:Utopia, Protectorate, Freedom... in fact if this was what players ask for than I am sorry but you didn´t recieved clariffication but just cosmetic fix. Personaly I wrote something similiar 2 months ago what we will get and bang here it is...

Players which saying that they cried for an hours from many touching moments - I am sorry but I can´t help myself but I saw nothing than cheap try to satisfy customer, I was laughting from how forced they tried to satisfy and fix that mess:

1.evacuation scene - insulting moment of EC and second insulting of ME3,  Harbringer storming the whole formations of soldiers and tanks but he will leave the greatest target in range just fly away ?Oh realy - cheap try...

2. Catalyst conversation - it´s full of negations, in one hand he is saying that his solution won´t work anymore but from other he told you if you refuse his terms SO BE IT... Cycle continues, this is maybe most dumbest part of his faulty AI logic.Until he isn´t lying about his 3 choices which gave you..

3. sprinkles - yes the EC is just a sprinkles which expanding that nonsesnse which we recieved, I am sorry but I already knew how it will look 3 months ago and I didn´t want know what I already knew... this is just a  bad...
You said that we will recieve clossure - well synthesis and control supporters recieved their answer but destruction recieved same dumb breath scene again - and for clossure must look to BSN for clarrification from some admin, realy ? ...

4. Closure and Clarrification - niether of them, we have recieved just a cosmetic fix of outcomes and not proving or disproving of what happened, it didn´t fix a great numbers of plotholes even add new ones.

5.  ARTISTIC VISION and INTEGRITY:
They were pretty clear about how they won´t change anything, yet they did it anyway with most dumbest way, if they just did convetional victory possible than I think all would recieved what they want instead the fans which refuse Artistic Vision get punch to the teeths.

I can´t say Well done BioWare, because that´s didn´t end well - I played a lot of your games, dlcs and always feel sattisfied but EC is simple opposite of your previous achievments.
Old ending - 6/10
EC - 6.5/10 (if you didn´t lied than I would even say 7/10)

It wasn't perfect Bioware but it was very nice. You had me fighting back the tears and emotions in a couple of scenes. Great work with the Starchild explanations, I had my hopes up for the EC but I didn't think you'd hit it quite this spot on!

Brilliant work throughout the series. It has been an absolute pleasure taking this journey with you and I can't wait for more!

Thought I'd give my kudos too, if the CE was the ending from the beginning I'm sure none would have complained.

But better late than never so good job, can count ME3 amongs my favorite games now. B)

The Extended Cut made ME3 finally feel complete. There was stuff missing before... details, emotion, closure... that stuff is in there now. The extended endings truly made me tear up - that alone is one hell of an accomplishment, since no other game has ever managed this :)

Thanks a lot for this great piece of DLC, BioWare!

Thanks BioWare, I may not have liked the whole synthetics v organics idea but you did an admirable job in tying up some loose ends. How about some SP DLC? MP is starting to wear thin.

Just played through it, had to start over cause my saves had been deleted when I upgraded my OS, Luckily I had my two Shepards face codes on a notepad elsewhere.

First things first, I think it's safe to say nobody likes the ghost kid but I can overlook it. As far as the endings go, I'm a realist which means I hope for the best and expect the worst. It tends to keep me from being disappointed, which oddly enough didn't help with the original ME 3 endings.
The "new", Extended ones, While there's still a couple of plot holes you sure plugged several of them up and when I joined the movement it was to ensure we'd be left with a sense of closure and that we actually saved the galaxy or ruined it. Not "Draw the conclusions yourself".

I'm happy to say you delivered, I'm happy that you listened and I hope we haven't scared you from taking chances. Now...Cupcakes for all!

An End Once And For All:

Take a gander at all the comments (beware of spoilers). It's pretty amazing to see the emotional effect BioWare hoped for before the release of the game - in full effect. It must be very satisfying for the team.

The EC is a dramatic improvement in my opinion. I have to admit I was one of the people complaining (politely) that the Catalyst's limited logic of organics vs. synthetics was totally at odds with the rest of the ME series. When I heard that the EC would only clarify the endings, I was disappointed.

So I was very pleasantly surprised when I played through the EC and wound up with a great feeling of satisfaction! Bioware has done a great job of creating emotionally fulfilling endings, and I realize now that's more important than whether the endings are completely logical. And to be fair, they've done a better job at explaining why the Catalyst does what it does.

Thanks Bioware, your efforts are appreciated.

I approve of the extended endings. Control is my favorite. I'd like to have seen a happy LI outcome but it isn't necessary.

Also, for dlc please make it have a direct impact on the epilogue. Maybe a scene so it's not an arbitrary +100 war asset number. Not asking for a change to endings just an epilogue nod for future dlc.
