After a day of negativity regarding the EC all over the internet, it feels so good to read this thread.

I liked it. Well done, BioWare!

Really? You know I went looking, too. Saw a few...bland reviews about the EC. Then stopped. I figured it was just those.

If not, how interesting. I looked at some of the so-called journo review sites, and they were bland. I thought , hmm, the critics loved the original, but not the fans..or not quite a few of the fans. Now, quite a few of the fans like the EC, and the critics are......not so inclined.

Well, critics don't buy video games. Fans do. Along with DLC; Comics and novels...and general swag.

Actually I've even watched my ending of choice again...several times on Youtube. It still makes me say.....(oh, wait. I think I already got redirected to a scolding for almost cussing on the forum)..uh, makes me say--Gee Whiz. Golly Moses. That was sure swell.

You realise Bioware were sitting there with Ban Hammers the day after release of the Extended Cut, I know 14 friends who use Bioware Social, of the 14, myself and 12 others got 72 hour bans within minutes of expressing our opinions, mine admittedly, was fairly rude, but most of theres were not at all, and BSN was aflame. They just moderated it very very strictly to ensure that another campaign didn't kick off, divide and conquer, and we're only just trickling back, the Extended Cut wasn't loved by us all (and its a piece of ****) just they made it look like it was.

Just wanted to say thank you for committing time and resources in order to give us this extended cut. It did for me exactly what it was supposed to do, give me closure and answer a lot of the questions regarding the catalyst and the reapers.
This is the ending this phenomenal series deserved.

I just finished to go through the EC with the four saves I had. These saves had very different ME1/2/3 playthroughs.
The only thing I can say, well done Bioware! These new endings are not perfect, there are still some plotholes and unanswered questions, but does not matter. Why, because instead of the original ones which gave me rage this new versions gave me closure. Good, emotional closure, so my journies with Shepards I played countless hours during the recent years are in full circle now.

Well done, Bioware.

Now please make an awesome action/rpg in the Mass Effect universe and everything will be forgiven :D

While I did not "rage" at the original endings I agree with this.  The EC isn't hasn't made the ending perfect, but it is a LOT better IMO.  Thank you Bioware for all the effort to give us closure and hope for the ME universe.

Can't wait for more Bioware! Keep up the good work!

Well done, Bioware...You've completely mucked up your lore by introducing a character in the final minutes of a final installment that contradicts much of what is explained by Sovereign in the first game.

I completely agree.  Extended Cut aside for a second, the ending in itself totally destroyed the horrifying legend of the Reapers.  They were built up as this horrific, inevitable, unstoppable force and all in a matter of 10 minutes...bam we're hit with the truth and in all honesty it was a real downer in my opinion.  Here is your truth about the Reapers...it all still boils down to, " you will be wiped out by synthetics in the future so to stop that I created some synthetics to wipe you out now."  Twisted stupid logic.  I liked it a lot better when
the Reapers were this unknown force of synthetic beings bent on wiping
out everything for no apparent reason. Honestly I feel it would have
been much better if their true reasons behind it were never revealed at
all, that they remained this great unknown galactic mystery, yet somehow
despite impossible odds we were able to find a way to defeat them for
good.  Victory through unity in the face of impossible odds.  This has been the underlying premise of Mass Effect since game 1.  And still it comes down to pick your color scheme ending, not to mention each choice pretty much contradicts everything Shepard fought for the entire series.  Yeah the Extended Cut provided clarity for what happened at the end, which should have been in the original to begin with, but the problem is Mass Effect ended in such lame fasion.  They built up the Reapers over 3 games and in a matter of minutes screwed up the entire lore.  I don't know if I'm going to completely boycott Bioware just yet, however I'm going to be very leary of any game with the EA/Bioware name in the future and wait until the price drops to buy it if at all.  My final opinion of Mass Effect 3 Ending/Extended Cut...the ending was a big turd, all they did was polish it up but I smell right through it.
