Gregoir, Jowan, Branka and Loghain right off the bat.

About your ROMANCE?!!

Alistair (multiple times), Avernus, Bryce, Zathrian (well after being beat up)...

Zathrain tells you not to romance Alistair and then admits he was wrong about it? I have to see that part.

And some friendly advice. If I quoted someone, I am responding to a specific assertion. Just something that may help you guys see the context.

See my point on the last page. If you're trying to single Wynne out because she admitted she was wrong, then that's not true because others do this too.

If you're singling her out for admitting she was wrong on your romance.. that's pointless because nobody else criticises your romance that way.

Which others disapprove unless you are also leading them on? Alastair seems bugged if you romance Morrigan, otherwise nothing in my experience.

And I read it, just saw it as people assuming wrong in general.

That's rather a moot point since virtually nobody speaks to you about your romances aside from those who are jealous/being cheated on.

Doesn't matter,

The poster claimed he/she disliked that Wynne disliked the romance. I said she admits she was wrong about that- something other characters don't do.

P.S: Morrigan will speak badly of  your romance with Alistair even if you are female and she is not romancing you. Oh and she doesn't recant. She offers to smecks him, but she doesn't recant.

Which is again irrelevant since nobody else does that in the first place.

Which is based entirely on the fact that she hates Alistair, and nothing to do with your romances in general.
You can even get positive approval out of that convo. Positive approval. With Morrigan. Exactly what would she need to apologise for?

It is about as relevant as your argument to the contrary.

Morrigan DOES speak badly of romances in general (love is a delusion convo). She does speak badly of your romance. And if you speak about Alistair in a romantic way in that conversation, you lose approval. That is not only because she dislikes Alistair. It is also because Morrigan is a cynic. It goes with her character to doubt love in general as well as your romance with Alistair.

Leliana is a gushy, happy person who thinks it is all awesome anyway. It is in her character to be happy about it all.

Wynne is a worrier. She worries about everything. But she is also a person who doesn't think she is a know it all. Notice what the poster gave as the reason *why* he/she believes Wynne should have accepted the romance. That is EXACTLY what Wynne says too. She objects at first and then she says she is wrong to judge you for seeking some happiness in a troubled world- exactly the poster's take on the situation. She eventually does EXACTLY what the poster wished she would do. How many characters do that?

Back to the original topic. Wynn knows her ales. Wynn has had a child out of wedlock, when she was young and having flings at the tower. They took it away from her. But it does suggest she had a wild side. I don't like when she and morrigan talk. I wish they would both just shut it. But after a while, they do stop grousing at each other. They are both very high approval with me...so maybe for my sake they finally shut up. Who knows. But Wynn obviously hasn't always been a goody goody.

Yes, age comes up in her conversations with Sten, who she also gets testy with. I doubt he cares. She's an "unbound mage" to him. But she does offer to knit him a cloak.

She wanted to give the dog a longer tail, antlers and turn him violet!

Surely... I did laugh at that.

And Leliana and her talents...well...it depends on what part of the story those two talk at... once Leliana said something about some lady who could do strange things with the stems of cherries with just her tongue. Um.... This was a Leliana & Wynne conversation. The next time, though, it was later in the game, and Leliana said something different.

All the characters have their charms. Well, most of them. Leliana and Morrigan together are funny. If you have anyone 2 in the party long enough, they will start spilling secrets to one another.

leliana has a shoe fetish.

Anyway. Enough.

Wynne has some fun and interesting banter with Alistair, Zev, Shale, and Ogren.  She has a mutual admiration society with Leliana.  Wynne and Morrigan just seemed to bicker with each other ad nauseum though.

While Wynne is now an ultra-nuturer, but in the past she was a bit of a hellion.  When she was young, she was angry about being trapped with her situation in life (iirc in the conversation she has with you about why Wynne is faithful to Andraste and the maker).  She regrets how she was a bad mentor to Anerien.  She also banters with Alistair about how she had sexual liasons at the Mage Circle, and had even given birth to a son out of wedlock.  She is very fond of alcohol.  So, she might be boring now, but she seemed like she had adventures and regrets from the past.

She does complain a lot about being old , but I give her a break because she did die briefly.

Wynne disapproves of the in-party alleged-"romances"? I like her even more now.

I like Wynne, but she is a bit of a cranky old cow. I mean, even poor Zev continually offers to "dust off the cobwebs" but she blatantly refuses, despite the fact she probably hasn't gotten laid since the last Blight. She just likes being contrary and bitter.

Considering that 2 out of 4 (don't know about Loghain) of the males in the party wants to give her a tumble, she prolly has no problem with that. And there are males aplenty in the circle tower.

They wanna give her one, but she doesn't seem interested. I think if she was getting some, she'd probably be alot  more mellow.

I adore Wynne, she is easily my favourite companion in this game, and high on my all-time favourites list. It's not just because I have a weakness for "kindly old mentors" but also because I found her altogether enjoyable to be around beside that role. And that romance thing? I like her for that too. Even though she changes her mind later, she is also at least partly right. Everyone expects zomg twoo wuv 4eva kawaiiiiiiii (or maybe rabid rutting without consequences) but that simply isn't how things work out most of the time, especially in such dangerous times and with people carrying such baggage. A bad breakup in the party could be disastrous in the face of civil war and Blight. And she is right about love often being selfish, too. Pointing such things out doesn't make anyone evil, bitter, stuck-up or frigid -- especially since she clearly does have everyone's best interest in mind.

It's just a shame that Wynne is one of the people about whom you cannot nearly learn everything yourself, but need to rely on random non-interactive, easy-to-miss banters with certain other companions. I never was able to trigger some banters people mention (such as Wynne revealing she has a kid or Morrigan and Sten talking about sex) even by running like a madwoman across the trigger points with these companion combinations.

I wish they'd stuck with Wynne's original concept art. It seems to reflect more of her drinking-with-Oghren side, less of her tendency to dispense unwanted, sometimes trite advice.Though the latter habit becomes more sympathetic if you think about the emotional deprivation and unpleasant atmosphere of life from a young age in the Circle. She's telling the player what she's told herself to justify and make bearable her submission to authority. That's how I read her anyway.

I did, but it was the principle. I guess the game assumes the PC is going to be young and needs to be taught. I just didn't appreciate he preachiness, partly because prior to that, I saw her as more of a friend to my character, who wasn't as old as Wynne, but wasn't a kid either, rather than a mentor.. It was more her holier than thou attitude that made me drop her. I'll probably use her on another play through though.
