I was aware that a mage could get his/her Arcane Warrior specialization in the Brecilian Forest. That would be my next stop after bringing the sacred ashes to Redcliff Castle to cure Arl Eamon. But after the cutscene and dialogue I had to level up (level 13). And the specialization point I gained at level 7 was spend to Arcane Warrior. So I left the castle as a Arcane Warrior. Now... is that magic or just a bug?

If you unlocked it by any means previously, even on a different save, it stays unlocked.
I know people who got this surprise while using cheats to try out character builds.

Depends if you unlocked it on an earlier play through. If so it stays unlocked for the rest of your characters. Or if you did like the poster above stated and played with mods or cheats.

No I didn´t use mods or cheats. But thank you for your replies, now I know the answer. My husband is playing with another character (also mage) and he´s already been to the Brecilian Forest and unlocked the specialization. So, no magic, alass...

I wish my wife liked this game and played it. That would make my life easier.

I play for like 45 min and the wife goes, "hmmm gonna play your game all night again I see" So I rarely get in over an hour during the work week, but I make up for it when she goes out. I tell her it could be worse and that I could be out at the bars boozin and such.

Sadly, I know your pain all too well. My wife makes similar comments. I spend a couple nights playing and suddenly I'm spending all my time on the damn computer again....
