New Multiplayer Weapon Mods in Extended Cut Files

I took a look in the new Extended Cut DLC files hoping to find info about the new ammo consumables. Instead, I see that they seem to have added UI information, but not actual stats, for several new multiplayer weapon mods. They all have a rarity of Rare. They consist of:

Assault Rifle Omni-Blade - Increase melee damage

Assault Rifle High-Velocity Barrel - Allow bullets to pierce objects but at reduced damage. Ignores[X]% of an armored target's defenses. Increase weapon weight.

Assault Rifle Thermal Scope - Increase accuracy, increase weapon weight

Sniper Rifle High-Velocity Barrel - Allow bullets to pierce objects but at reduced damage. Ignores[X]% of an armored target's defenses. Increase weapon weight.

Sniper Rifle Thermal Scope - Increase accuracy, increase weapon weight

Shotgun Omni Blade - Increase melee damage, increase weight

Shotgun High-Velocity Barrel - Allow bullets to pierce objects but at reduced damage. Ignores[X]% of an armored target's defenses. Increase weapon weight.

Pistol Cranial Trauma System - Increase headshot damage

Pistol Heavy Barrel - Increase damage, increase weight

Ultralight Pistol Materials - Reduce weight

SMG High-Velocity Barrel - Allow bullets to pierce objects but at reduced damage. Ignores[X]% of an armored target's defenses.

SMG Recoil System - Increase weapon stability

Now, who knows if they will ever be activated, but it is interesting that there are a lot and they are all listed in this new single-player DLC.

Something to keep in mind:

Not all of the existing mods are named properly. One of the shotgun mods(I think it's the shredder mod) is listed as "Shotgun reload speed". They sometimes change the functionality without changing the name.

Though SMG stabilization would be nice.

Damage AND penetration in a single mod? Instead of +25% (Lvl V) of either one, I think +12% (Lvl V) of each woulld be fair.

And the Super Damage is probably the long-rumored "+50% DMG, -35% Fire Rate" mod that was mentioned back in March.

That's true, a lot of things are named in wacky fashions. But, what supports the idea that these are new items is the fact that they are all Rare rarity. We don't currently have any rare weapon mods.

Oh I think they're the new mods.

I also think that they may not end up doing what their names advertise they're going to do =P

That shotgun reload speed mod would have been interesting, though,

It'd be interesting if you could stack these mods. IE: Claymore with EB V plus Damage + Penetration V = maaaaaasive damage.

Just going to toss this out there, but I'm going to assume that mods such as "super damage" take up both weapon mod slots, or have some sort of negative effect to counterbalance the huge upside.

If it resulted in no recoil, I would replace Heat Sink with it on my Hurricane.

Or what if it just gives a wallhack bonus.  There's some really interesting utility there if wallhacking just becomes something you can slap on a weapon.  That might be balanced too, you're giving up something (damage, penetration, ammo) in order to get it.

Pistol Ultra Light?  Now all we need is a geth pistol and that ULM mod will actually be effective!

Seriously though, if an ULM mod is created for pistols, I hope it works for all of  them

Btw, ULM is still bugged on the SMGs besides Geth smg right?  I haven't really been in the loop much these days.

BTW, looking through the TLK files there are some descriptions.

-The "super" mods also increase weapon weight, but can combine effects for example combining an extended barrel and an AP mod into one: "Increase damage by W% and allow bullets to pierce X-meter thick objects but at Y% reduced damage. Ignores Z% of an armored target's defenses.
