Post EC DLC, we now know the Catalyst and Reapers are AI/synthetics whose creators are long dead. They were created to prevent AI/Catalysts from destroying their creators. Hmmm. Interesting, no? Who else is thinking they just don't like competition and keep feeding Shep false reasons as to why they harvest us?

We keep getting glimpses as to their plans but never the motivation. Why do they care who kills whom? Why do they see themselves as above their own laws regarding synthetics killing organics? Sounds like simple crop management to me, but don't tell the crops that.
