Extended Cut not working?

Downloaded Extended Cut a couple of hours ago, played some multiplayer to get my EMS up, and then restarted the last mission. Since I didn't see any changes at all, I thought that perhaps I had to play it all the way from when you attack TIM's base, seeing as how that is where you are left off after you complete the game. So I did that, and guess what, not a single change in the ending. What am I doing wrong?

that means it did not download properly or completely. I had the same issue too and ended up playing through the bad endings as well. I am looking to go back and play through the ending of my low ems character to see if it made any difference.Giluc wrote...
When I go to the storage device it is installed on and find the Extended Cut, it shows an Orange !-icon instead of like, I don't know, the ME3 logo or whatever. I have deleted it and I am reinstalling it now. From when do I have to play - the Cerberus base or at the Citadel?

Try restarting your XboxHardlinePrune13 wrote...
So does anyone know how XBOX users know if the Extended Cut is installed or active? Coz I've looked at my storage, which said it was there, but it obviously wasn't because I played through the entire ending sequence with no differences at all. I've downloaded again, but again have no idea of it's active or installed correctly? Is something supposed to flash or pop up on your screen or something? HELP!!!

I have restarted multiple times but again I've no indication about whether it's installed or set-up properly. Previously, it appeared as a tick in my storage and My Games folders, but it obviously was not set-up properly. Is there a notification that tells us that it's set up? How do we know?

I spoke to someone from EA support through the online chat thing, and was told that I'm not entitled to the content! When I pointed out that it's free content, she told me that what she actually meant was that she can see on her end whether the EC has been 'approved' or validated with your gamer tag. I was also told to clear my cache, delete the old install and re-install, which is what I'm doing now... I'll try the above, about just leaving it at the download page and take it from there. The strange thing though is that my xbox shuts down after a period of inactivity, which has just indeed happened - my only hope is that resuming the download from 55% will result in a successful download and install.

I've just downloaded it again. The only thing I can click on is 'Continue' which I have, and it just brings me to the main menu page. There's no notification or message or indication that the Extended Cut has been set-up or installed!
So I went back to EA support, and asked them how I can know whether it's set up properly, as I don't want to play for another 4-5 hours and then just find out that it was not set up properly again. And here's what I was told:
"
Anshul: [/b]There are issues that are coming for the extended cut
Anshul: [/b]Please wait for some few days to get it fix
you: [/b]i just want to know, how I will know if its set up correctly?
you: [/b]like if i start the game, is it supposed to tell me?
Anshul: [/b]Please contact us again after some days and we'll fix it for you
"
Isn't that just fantastic?

you: [/b]??
you: [/b]no way to search it?

you: [/b]look, i just want to know: if the EC is installed correctly, how does the player know?
Anshul: [/b]It's not possible to let you know from the account side, please try and play the game and you will let you know
you: [/b]for 5 hours?

you: [/b]are you kidding?

Why is there no support for what is obvious a serious technical issue with the EC? I consider this serious, seeing that I can't even play it, or even know if I've downloaded and CAN play it? And why are there no Moderators on the Social Bioware site lending support to these issues?
Where's the support Bioware?

I just decided to do a play through anyway, despite what could have been a waste of time. And I THINK i have the EC installed correctly, because I have observed some new dialogue between Shep and Joker just before landing on the Cerberus base - Shepard says something about Cerberus ships having specs that outclass Alliance shipts. I'm fairly certain that that bit of dialogue was not there before the EC. I wonder - can anyone confirm this?

Pretty sure that's from the before the EC. If I am not mistaken, there are actually no changes to dialogue or additional scenes until you make the run for the beam.
While it's still a kind of decent chunk of game, just restart Priority Earth to see if you notice any changes.

Yea, you're right - I looked it up online and it is indeed from before, just never noticed it before.
I'll play thru as quick as possible and find out.. I'm having an ominous feeling though - surely, something would have come up informing me that it's been installed or that I am playing the EC.. sigh

I figured out how to solve this. After investing the last 2-3 hours of my life to playing the ending and not seeing any changes, I was pissed to say the least. This download is the only Xbox download I've ever seen use this ridiculous download process. You have to go to the main menu, go to downloadble content, the box will open up, select the EC, download or download again, and then wait. DON'T go to the dashboard, it'll stop your download. DON'T turn off your Xbox because you have back ground downloads on, it'll stop your download. And if you so happen to do those, you have to repeat this process, you can't just wait for it to download at the dashboard (it won't even appear as an active/pending download from the guide button). Screw whoever decided to make it operate this way. You literally just watch your download bar, or go make a sandwich, or take a nap. Anything BUT use your Xbox, at all.
Thanks for the info! I did not know this and I was going nuts playing and seeing NOTHING new.

The only discernible difference from before entering the beam is the RUN to the beam. Don't want to spoil it, but that's how I knew, and as far as I know that's the only difference at this point in the game.
I'm not sure if it's 100% true that you have to load from before the Cerberus base to get it though.. frankly I don't quite see/understand why this would be true, seeing that no decisions made in the final missions has a difference either way... or at least that's as far as I know and understand it for now..

Once properly installed, the extended content is available for any game loaded prior to the run to the beam (I have not tested an AutoSave created after that event). I viewed the extended content after completing the game from a manual save created in the final mission in London. I do not know why BioWare recommends beginning from prior to the assault on Cronos Station.
