The Extended Cut is really what the original endings should of been. Sure the space magic still exists with the Crucible being the end to the war, but in the EC the groundwork for such a solution is laid out much better. Gamers may be a very fickle lot, but they were right to criticize the original endings as there was no explanation given to them to justify the endings they were presented. However, I think it was unneccessary to add the Rejection (Troll) ending because it just comes off as very bitter from the developers. Big props to the team for putting the EC together and changing that awful "buy our dlc" message at the end of the game.
Personally, I will consider buying another Bioware game in the future in light of the EC, but I will not preorder any Bioware or EA game again considering the farce that has ensued since Mass Effect 3 has come out.
There and back again (My take on the EC)

Fair assessment. I commend them for not blowing it. I apologize if it seems a bit harsh, but I had no idea what to expect.

Neither did I. Gamers have a right to be wary from now on, considering what was promised and what was initially delivered.
