Now... the ending.
They are still 'artistically poor', in my opinion. I understand BioWare had to preserve the artistic integrity of the writers, and that is fine. After all, there are people who enjoyed it. I'm just not one of them I'm afraid, and the answer is simple.
After all the explaining has been said and done, the choices are the same. Shepard dies in all the endings, but I was looking for a way to end the reaper threat and restore peace to the galaxy while keeping Shepard alive. I wasn't looking for the fairy tale perfect ending.
Shepard is the solution.
I like how arrogant the Catalyst sounded in the end, almost sounded as if the writers themselves were talking to me, not Shepard. I wanted to tell the God Child, NO, you are still just an AI, you were created by organics.
Why must synthetics surpass their limits?
Do the Geth suddenly want to take over the galaxy or something? I worked hard to end the conflict between the Quarians and the Geth, and Legion was sacrificed in the end. The Geth have shown no indication of ambition, either through expansion or self upgrade. They have shown, and proven, that they listen to reason and act according to logic. In MY ending, I feel that a Commander Shepard is enough to maintain peace and order in the galaxy. No AI in the world can substitute the free thinking of an organic mind.
The Catalyst/God Child has failed. The Reapers were never a solution, they were a terrible solution. The analogy about fire and war made me laugh out loud
So after playing through the three games numerous times, I have come to one final solution.
I hate AI.
I didn't even want to argue with the Catalyst, because he/she/it is just lines of code. They will never understand the mechanics of the free mind. That's why I'm not even mad at him, he is just doing what he was programmed to do. I still don't like the endings, but at least it's over.
Thanks Bioware.
