1 Metroid Prime - Its so playable its not funny, incredible solitary atmosphere
2 Mass Effect - storytelling is unmatched and its more customisable than a hot rod
3 Uncharted - awesome main character who is basically the new indiana jones
Runner up Gears of war (for its sheer bromanticism), and anticipating Dead Space (thick atmoshere and slick gameplay).
Come on people, lets have it!

I think its safe to say ME3 is 'over' in terms of the main plot and the trilogy is as complete as its going to be - now its time to rank up your favourite game trilogies! Im looking for 3 of them! And maybe a reason or 2 as to why it makes your list. For me:
1 Metroid Prime - Its so playable its not funny, incredible solitary atmosphere
2 Mass Effect - storytelling is unmatched and its more customisable than a hot rod
3 Uncharted - awesome main character who is basically the new indiana jones
Runner up Gears of war (for its sheer bromanticism), and anticipating Dead Space (thick atmoshere and slick gameplay).

Great list though I have to change it up a bit. I haven't got around to playing Uncharted 3 yet, my gaming backlog is too much. I'll pick it up once the goty edition is out.
1 Mass Effect- What can I say, no game has ever grabbed me like this series has. I'd be embarrassed to admit the number of times I've played through 1 and 2 and I'm sure I have many more of 3 left. It's also the only series I've ever bought on multiple platforms (xbox and pc).
2 Metroid Prime- I have to agree with this one. I remember seeing Prime 1 described in a review as "it's like the best game from 5 years in the future was sent back in time". The fact that the game is STILL amazing drives that point home. The complete trilogy collection, that redid 1 & 2 with 3's Wii controls, is the only reason I keep my Wii plugged in.
3 Warcraft- 1 was good, 2 grabbed me almost like Mass Effect has and 3 is arguably the best RTS ever made. Not to mention the series' lore was good enough to inspire a certain mmo.

1. Can I include just Fallout 1 and 2? If not screw you guys I don't care. Fallout 3 doesn't exist to me and I still haven't played New Vegas.

What is this "Fallout 3"? Do you mean TES: Apocalypse Edition?

Crusader: No Regret
and the unreleased sequel, Crusader: No Mercy.
That counts, right?
Also, Might & Magic III, IV, and V, I'm counting as a trilogy since those are the ones I played.

If we can bend the term to "a series with 3 or more games in it" Monkey Island and Assassin's Creed get my vote.
Maybe Max Payne also, but I still have to play the third one.

Honestly I've never played a trilogy besides Mass Effect so that's my favorite game trilogy by default.
This pretty much. Ive never had much time for games that are more of the same of what I've already got, and rarely owned or played through more than 2 games in a series.
Actually I've come close with Metal Gear Solid but I barely played Snake Eater and never played 4.

2 Fallout. (FO, FO2, FONV). There is a reason people hold Fallout as a diamond standard. A sprawling world, filled with stories, choices and repercussions abound. For all their talk of freedom, Bethesda have yet to come close, not even with The Fallout Scrolls.
1. Mass Effect. Now, after the EC assured us ,no, the setting isn't gutted, it has reclaimed its space. No other game has captivated me or drawn me in like this. An exciting space opera epic, filled with amazing characters and solid gameplay.
Honorable Mentions:
Warcraft. From a generic good and evil tale to a grey and grey, world spanning epic, three stellar games that then gave us an mmo that's basically legalized crack.
God Of War. Epic. Just epic. Being a psychotic, pitiless Byronic hero should not be this much fun. And dear god, the boss fights are awesome, fight the collossus and tell me otherwise. The two side games are great too.

Also ME would've been at the top of my list but now I don't even consider it.
1. Uncharted
2. God of War
3. Assassin's Creed 2 - Revelations (Ezio's trilogy)
