Shenmue- there should have been a third one.
Fallout

That was my first thought, then I remembered...:crying:

I guess I only have Halo and MGS even though both of those have more than 3 games. I can't really think of anything else that didn't fall apart in the final instalment. I would have had Gears 3 and ME3 but one just got boring and what was an ok story became a bit of a joke, the other took a dump on itself in the final 15 minutes.

Omg, Shenmue - I only played the second one and never beat it (I was a kid) and I remember absolutely falling in love with that game (on the Xbox). Oh man, brings back memories.

I still wish there was a KOTOR 3, but that will never happen.

The first Shenmue was even better, so brilliantly atmospheric with a decent story and excellent gameplay. It was also one of the most unintentionally hilarious games I've ever played. "Kiss off twit!"

Can't believe I forgot all about these. I absolutely loved them when I was younger.

Here's mine.

1-mass effect series.
2- modern warfare series
3- gears of war series.

Those are the only series of games I have played that had 3 games to end the series or story arch. Others to note that I am keeping an eye on are assassins creed 3, dragon age 3(though not a trilogy as it stands) and the castlevania lords of shadow series (has two more games coming out) suppose to be a trilogy.

I didn't even know there was a third game. I played the first two.

I'm so glad someone else has played that game. Literally no one I know has. Shenmue was the FIRST game I ever fell in love with. If it wasn't for that game and Final Fantasy X I wouldn't have fallen in love with games.

I think the Mass Effect series is the only trilogy I've ever played.
That is, at least until Dragon Age 3 drops! :wizard:

I'm glad to see some Shenmue fans here. I haven't played the first game in a while but I just picked up II from Amazon. It's as fun as I remember.

According to Wikipedia it was released on the SNES just after the N64 was released and thus did not sell as well as the previous two.

Shenmue was a huge deal when it came out. I recall me and three mates all had it pre-ordered and got it first day. We all had wildly different experience's playing too just because of the genius way it's structured. To this day we still randomly fire off quotes from it. I pulled a sicky from work when Shenmue 2 came out so I could play all day.

I wish Sega would hurry up and do an HD remake on xbox live so I can relive the magic of looking for bar's where sailor's hang out and learning kung fu from Tom at the hotdog stand with his shocking Jamaican accent. I still have a dreamcast and both games but don't fancy hooking it up only to find out it no longer works.

I couldn't get my DreamCast to work properly with my HD-ready TV. The signal goes all funny and I can't really see the graphics properly.

Hm....can't think of many games with a proper trilogy format as mentioned previously; only Mass Effect seems to really fit that.

Other games where there are three games or more....

Street Fighter II, Street Fighter III and Street Fighter IV.

Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3.

Soul Calibur, Soul Calibur II and Soul Calibur III.

Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX.

I suppose I should mention God of War as well though I've never played the third game. Following that line of thought: Shenmue....

I hope this is in the works after Jet Set Radio HD comes out. "Do you know of any place where sailor's hangout?" Man I miss that.

Gears of War, Halo, Mass Effect and when Valve counts to three Half Life
