I was firmly in the "New Ending" camp. I was entirely certain that now amount of explanation or extended scenes could make me accept the original endings. Now I find myself suprisingly happy.
I didn't need Bioware to explain most of the things, though I am happy they did. I just finished my first EC playthrough and chose the "F U GODCHILD" option. It was awesome how God Child changed, and I got to see my Shepard go down without giving in. Liara's little hologram proved to be useful, and the ending alien Stargazer (Used to call it Stargeezer, but...) scene was much better without the terrible "my sweet" line. I've also checked out the EC Destroy ending, and was extremely happy with how they did.
What I think is amazing is how Bioware actually stuck to its guns. Everything the EC showed could be guessed at, but it was nice to actually SHOW it. Nothing truly changed about the endings, but a little bit of smoke and mirrors (and 1.9 GB of cinematics) has completely changed my perspective on the endings. I still hate hearing the God Child, but I can at least smile at the destroy and rejection ending and think "That felt right".
All praises for Bioware!
