Would you be happy with an Ashley that leaves the military and joins Cerberus, then dies in your arms on an "epic death" without your Sheppard being able to even say "I love you" ?

Wasn't happy about when it happened to Shepard.

You all are making some pretty odd assumptions about what we like about the series.

Then I'm really confused as to your argument.  You acknowlege there's lots of implausible things going on...but one that can be made plausible with just a little bit of work is too much?

because I'm not getting into the whole "the ending sucked because I have no imagination" discussion here, because this thread is about Thane. it was a non-arguement trying to change the topic and make anyone who you disagree with look like a moron for disagreeing with you.

the organ transplant has been discussed multiple times already today, so I didn't see the point in repeating myself. I agree that such dialogue should have been introduced, but not that it should have lead to you being able to save thane. if you're serious about having a discussion rather than just flaming anyone you disagree with, let me know please.

Fair enough.

Shepard survived the vacuum of space.  (In fact, came out better and stronger)

That was directed at M Hanky. Again, I usually take the time to get to know my "opponent" so to speak. His LI was Ashley or at least he likes her enough to post on her thread often

I'm saying that there are a lot of things going on that make NO sense (not implausable, flat out impossible), but this is not one of those things.

No of course Thane dying was not impossible. No one is immortal unless you pick the green ending. Then you can be immortal and even revive a guy who died years ago through his brain box, but cure an infection ? Not possible

No one else is saying that Thane's death was impossible.  Just that it was badly written and that it's quite plausible for several methods to save him.

Just because it's not the biggest problem with ME3 (for you) doesn't mean it's not something that shouldn't be fixed.

you're seriously trying to say that keiji is revived based off of this picture? he's clearly a hologram.

No based on a tweet by someone from Bioware. And the picture. It is from the DLC files

yeah, it's in the ending assuming you saved keiji's greybox (or whatever it is) for kasumi's loyalty mission.

So Kasumi can be with Keiji, but Thane is still left in the cold

It wasn't badly written. You all just don't want to accept that there are and SHOULD BE things in the story that you (being Shepard) have no control over.

SHOULD have control over:
Joining Cerberus
Contacting old allies
Finding new friends

SHOULD NOT have control over:
Everyone who lives and dies
Other characters decisions

Thane was in the wrong place, at the wrong time...but there's no reason why you should be able to change if he were there or not. As Shepard, you don't control his motivations.

What was it about things Shepard should and shouldn't have control over?
Like, say, Shepard's actions while her lover is FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE?

sometimes intervening in such a fight does more damage than good.

Like while they're separated by yards? Shepard is combat trained and there's no way she'd just stand there.

Ok, so you're right. The cutscene should have involved Shepard shooting at Kai Leng some. I blame Kai Lengs plot armor for that. If you're petitioning for them to go back and change the cutscene so that Shepard takes a few shots, I'll support you.

And if Thane's biotics could throw KL across the room, then Shep's could affect him too, thus plausibly rendering Thane's inexplicable charge onto KL's sword unnecessary

Or paragon interrupt--"Stand down, Thane, I'll handle it from here"
*To KL, "Surrender now and I can help you."

Choose your own Adventure time!

1. You're dying of lung cancer. Your girl/boyfriend comes up and says, "Good news! You're eligible for a lung transplant that will extend your life by xxxx amount of time!" What you you say?
A. No Thanks
B. HELL YEAH
C. Trans..plant...? What is this magic you speak of?

2. You're standing in a dark alley. Your boyfriend is in a huge fight with a guy wielding a sword. Your boyfriend has a gun. You also have a gun. You are a trained soldier. You also have nifty distance abilities. What do you do?
A. Get the **** outta there!
B. Stand around and pick your nose.
C. Get in there and shoot his ass till it stops moving.

3. Your lover is on his/her deathbed. He/She treats you like a friend as he/she dies. You:
A. Sing a happy song.
B. Stare stonily and then forget it ever happened.
C. Hit on the next movable object you see.
D. Both B and C.

I'm guessing reading the other 29 pages in this thread is pointless. :o

In a game that's all about changing things, Thane shouldn't be forced to go under any circumstances.

Why change one of the best deaths in
the game? Thane knew he was going to die ever since we met him in ME2.
There is no reason to change that.
