It seems possible that Bioware can extend the series for ME if the control ending was considered canon. I mean Shepard creates a A.I. or whatever for the control ending, and it becomes the guardian of the galaxy. Now the question is what would the Reapers be protecting the galaxy from? I mean what kind of person in the galaxy would want to start a fight with the Reapers? Now this can be a potential to tie-in the original dark energy ending. Dark energy was never explained, but there showed signs that it can be a problem which leads to another series in the ME trilogy.
