Usually, I don´t post on forums after finishing a game. But this time, I felt necessary.
Although some people seem to evaluate it thinking only on the last released game, I played them all, and became close to most of the characters in the series.
When the first Mass Effect was released, I didn´t notice. Actually I aquired it some time after, thinking to myself "for this price, I will take a chance". Gradually I started to get into the feeling behind the story, wanting always more and more, counting days for a new release...
The Mass Effect experience is not easy to compare with anything else, but try to imagine Tolkien without the linearity of a book, since the story changes through gameplay (small details, sometimes, but most of the time enough). Can you really imagine the number of variables this game adds? What are people complaining about? This is Shepard's story, even if we can identify ourselves with him. This is not the regular role-play.
Personally, I believe this is a masterpiece. The series surpasses what usually a game is, and gave us an experience that even a movie is not able to achieve. I already liked it before Extended Cut. But now, I believe this was the best gaming experience ever to be made.
I want to congratulate everyone that made this trilogy possible.

Im not happy, because I simply cannot choose right, I think..
I don't want to be egoistic and make that 'Organics First', after Legion died for his people - Red Ending
I don't want to play god and the Lifeforms should evolve naturally (otherwise that Korgan-thing could happen) vs. eternal peace? - Green ending
The music implied something bad and Shep talking about power and stuff, and we talked TIM out of controlling the reapers, why should we, but rebuilding everything and protecting everyone? - Blue Ending
Very, very hard choices.. much harder then before the normal ending.
SO: Yes, I absoltely love this (after the huge empty hole in my stomache, when playing it for the first time - I couldn't touch ME for a long time after that)
I feel.. mollified, relieved, satisfied sad. Now I will do a second playthrough! Finally! Thank you BioWare, for making such a great compromise =)
But still.. anyone still thinks, that that Stargazer speech implies more Mass Effect? More than just some DLC?

I have mixed feelings but overall I think what's done is done and there's no point in continuing to blab about it, I'm 'content' I suppose.
It's ultimately not what I wanted, I truely believed indoc gave bioware a huge scapegoat out of this mess, and I still think after replaying through cornos, listening to EDI tell me that if she wasen't there to save my life *then* listen to this idiot tell me she'll eventually stab me in the back was horse crap.
However. finnally getting a chance to say goodbye brought tears to my eyes once again. Even after being annoyed having to go through the 2hour play-through for an additional 10minuites worth of cut-scenes. Mr. Sabarge and Bioware were obviously listening on the run-up to the conduit for Kaidan L/I people.
I think while this isn't what I wanted, it's enough, bearly. It'll continue to remain in the back of my mind for future purchase I think though, and that's really all anyone should do at this point.
on a 1-10 scale, I would have to say this is a 6/10 for me. Ultimately my interaction with the characters was more important than this nonsense with the star-child, and Bioware mostly addressed the character closure concerns, even if I didn't like the way they did it.

Wish we could throw Star child out the airlock along with whoever dreamt him up, but yes the endings do at least provide some closure.
Pleased Bioware fixed the mess that was the original ending at least.

A massive turnaround for me, I was a very vocal disliker of the original endings, and I still wish these new endings had been in place when I completed the game back in May, but now all is forgiven. If these new endings dont leave you in tears of bittersweet joy there's something wrong with you.

Same old stuff repackaged to not look so turdish. You still only get to do what the reapers ALLOW you to do.

Better than the original, still not up to par with the series. Unfortunate considering that the story, depth, and detail of these games rival Tolkien, Martin, and Lucas, yet will be tainted for a lackluster ending.
I wrote my own ending to cope with it, check it out if you like:

No, it did very little to explain the giant gaping plot holes that already existed and only tried to fill very minor ones at best. The whole Normandy rescuing 2 squadmates was just stupid, it makes Harbinger look more stupid now than ever, and Joker stupid for just randomly dropping into Earth to rescue and grand total of two people.
The Catalyst is still ridiculous, I'll give them they at least tried to explain parts of it but the whole argument with him is still full of holes and lots of more arguments can still be made with him, what's worst is that they give us a rejection ending yet make it the worst ending for us that completely ignores the War Assets and therefore the actual game. It still doesn't explain how the Normandy survived crashing onto a planet (whilst in FTL speed) and then just magically flew off again.
The only good thing from this is that I can end the pain to my head this game has caused me. I'm glad it's over.

4/10 - it had so much potential, but failed to deliver (for me that is).
BUT you should definitely play it, because it is obvious way more people like the EC than the original endings, and I even have a friend who absoloutely hated the original endings, but he loved the EC.

The 'new' ending feels like a slap in the face of everyone who didn't like the endings originally.
The entire problem with the endings is the 'twist' that comes just before it, not the endings themselves. It still feels like a betrayal, especially where the Geth are concerned.

It was okay. I liked the new cinematics, I was lukewarm on the epilogue with the stills- the spoken epilogue was good, but the stills were a little weird.

The extended cut at least gave some much needed closure. I can headcanon in all the stuff that was missing but at least the foundation was there. All of it should have been in the game from day 1 though. And it did nothing to make the ending any better. It's just extended garbage now.
A deus ex machina ending is unacceptable, especially from BioWare. I still loathe the ending, but with the EC it is at least bearable. So in that regard, the EC did the trick and I think it's a 7/10.

9/10, would have liked it more if a high enough galactic readiness allowed the geth to survive destruction or if other endings had the breathing scene but for the most part I enjoyed it.

Pick the control ending so you can control the reapers. Problem solved. The catalyst even says in a conversation about the control ending that he's not looking forward to being replaced by you but that he would be forced to accept it if you choose it.Baldrick67 wrote...

Seriously, those little extra scenes really made the difference for me ! 9/10
It felt like a fitting ending to such an incredible journey and each of the ending choices felt right in their own ways. Plus, they corrected most of the plot holes so what can we ask more ?
MORE ****ING SINGLEPLAYER DLC = MORE AWESOMENESS
