*This thread will have spoilers so read at your own risk*

So I just spent the last week of my life playing through DA:O, Awakening, and Witch hunt. During DA:O I performed the dark ritual. Now during the end of witch hunt, Morrigan told me the Flemeth is not what she seems and made her sound like the worst possible thing that could happen to the world. She also told me that she had to prepare the child for what was to come. Now I know the OGB is considered non canon but for those of us who chose to do the ritual it is canon and I doubt that if the child needed to be prepared for whatever is going to happen, bioware is just going to ignore him in the future of dragon age. So my question is how do you guys thing the OGB will play a role in the future?

Isn't there the core and distinct possibility that the OGB doesn't even exist. I suppose they could retcon but I'll be honest, I don't think Morrigan or the child will play a huge role in the next DA. I can see them being a small part of the main quest or perhaps a lengthy side mission, but nothing more.

What she's preparing for is the war that is going to break out between the Templars and the Mages. Both sides would probably like to have the power within 'it' for themselves. Personally, I'm a bit tired of Bioware games just focusing on one war though. It was pretty bad in ME3 where EVERY SINGLE QUEST was to do with the war effort.

The OGB is possibly non canon if you chose not to do the DR. But if you did it was a big choice. I honestly hope that the mage and templar war is not the only focus of Dragon Age just because of DA 2. I wasnt a huge fan of DA 2 and the problems between mages and templars always seemsed like a bit of a sub plot. It would be really lame if that was the only focus form now on. I believe that Flemeth will play a bigger role in the future of Dragon Age which would give the OGB to play a role should it be canon for your PC.

I completely agree. Can't we go back to being adventurers again? Not world changing superheroes. People traveling across the nations of Thedas, slowly uncovering a plot that could destroy the world, or something that could be of great importance in the war, but not a game *about* that war, if you know what I mean.

I quite frankly want it to be like DA:O, except instead of the importance of the Blight maybe have a different reason to travel through the various cultures and solve their problems.

Maybe we need the help of an Orlesian noble because he has access to some Chantry archives that might hide secret information, so we have to play the 'game' and help him bring down another noble.

Perhaps we travel to the crumbling capital of the Empire of Tevinter, Minrathous, where hidden beneath the tower of the Magocracy (or whatever) lies some ancient untapped power, but to get there we must somehow transform the fortunes of an unimportant Mage into the one of the leaders of the City, and play the political game there, perhaps even engaging in the war with the Qunari for public support.

So what I'm talking about are maybe 4-6 small, 6-10 hour adventures that have self-contained plots, yet tie into the world's overall story as a whole.

I would also like to be an adventurer again. I like how in DA 2 some of the side quests would come back later in the game. But the whole Champion of Kirkwall thing didnt have much meaning to me. I felt nothing for Kirkwall, As far as I saw it was just a big city filled with angry templars, even angrier blood mages, slavers, and a bunch of people that wanted to kill me (that would appear out of no where). Why would I want to be the champion of that place. The Hero of Ferelden is a title that carries more. Thats why I would like the child of my character to have an important role.

I'll be disappointed if the OGB doesn't become at least a small portion of future DA installments. Morrigan, the baby, and Flemeth are extremely compelling story lines. I remember finishing DA:O and being frustrated that I'd have to wait a span of years for DA2 to find out what happens next. Too bad this wasn't the case.

The OGB can go two ways. They'll either retcon him into little to no importance, or find a way to ensure that Morrigan got the soul of an OG regardless of the Dark Ritual.
I would prefer two different storylines depending on your choice, but after ME3, I don't think they'll do it.
If it has to beone of the above two options, I hope it's the latter. I always wanted to know more about the OGs.

I don't know why Morrigan couldn't have gotten an OGB from the third grey warden if you refused her. It's magic after all.
