So I've recently had to reinstall Windows due to a new motherboard and installed Origin on my secondary data drive. When I try to run the game through Origin it starts as normal, but as soon as I get to the point it says to press any key the prompt "Origin (EA) is no longer running Mass Effect 3 will now close" and then shuts down as soon as I press ok. When I try to start through the exe file, it brings up a window that says Origin is not installed on this computer. Mass Effect 3 is the only game that does this on my Origin list. Someone PLEASE help me.

This is a new problem, I've got it to without doing anything like you've done. It was playing fine yesterday but now says the same thing even if I press shift F1 and have the Origin system up as the game goes to that screen

I've got the same problem as well, installing the new DLC hasn't done anything to help it either. Where is the patch to fix this EA/Bioware?!?!? I have tried everything involving firewalls, %temp%, reinstalling and still no luck.

Bump, I have noticed it being a more common issue and it has all the permissions for my firewall too. I'd kinda like to be able to play my game as I please.

I'm in the same boat... tried repairs, reinstalls, the new origin beta...

Same problem. The system absolutely refuses to go beyond the "Press Any Key" screen because Origin is not on. All this despite Origin is on and even putting Origin in game doesn't convince it that the game is on.

There has to be a fix for this. I remove the DLC - nothing. I reinstall ME3 and physically remove the registry codes. Nothing. I run fixes - nothing. I try renaming IGO32.dll - nothing.

I too had to replace a motherboard and when I downloaded ME3 and ran it through Origin it said "Launching" and then quit. I spent an hour in a useless chat with an Origins support person who wasn't able to resolve this issue. Does EA read this complaints? I don't see any answers coming.

Well folks, for my PC, the issue was Bitdefender 2013. (I know... first rule is to check the firewall...)

I did check it - disabled firewall, antivirus, etc - with no success. Turns out it was the Parental Control service running in the background that cannot be disabled through the front-end. I had to physically remove it from the registry. Hope that helps at least one of you.

I've got a similar variation - the .exe will run and the process will be visible in task manager, but the game won't start - no icon, or window or anything, just an inert, 600ish kilobyte process called MassEffect3.exe that will run in the background forever. I can't tell what causes it because it worked once or twice yesterday and repairing the install does nothing.

I have the same thing. Funnily enough, if I end the process and start up the .exe again it runs properly the second time.
