Frankly I never believed or even trusted Metacritic scores, espcially for any small or large scale product. Medium scale products might have a slightly honest rating, but if you are too small the statistical reliablility is too weak (when you SD is 5 on a scale of 10... you got issues) and large scale products have too much hype or momentum so that fandumb or fandom can cause an unjust tilt, in either direction actually.

Too many people, and sadly too many developers and publishers use it too seriously. That is where the real problem is. Not the system itself (which even if flawed if people did with it as they will it would just be another system out there). It is the fact it is taken too seriously by too many people that causes the real problem with.

Frankly anything that proves that Metacritic is not realiable and makes people question its value is a good thing. Well not the action itself is good, but the end result it might lead to can only be good. People really do need to stop taking that thing so seriously.

My score of 2/10 stands. The reasons:

+ Fun combat
+ Good length (30 hours)

- No exploration
- Bad character development
- Too many plot holes
- Music sucked
- Too much emotion
- Auto dialog
- Only one hub world
- Ending sucked
- Extended cut sucked
- Ruined the first two games for me

I can go on forever.

Not sure if troll or very stupid?

Probably one of the people EA wants to bring in with their "Broader appeal"

Honestly if the Broader appeal people forked over the previous two games what makes them think the third installment is gonna drag them in. They're doing the same thing with deadspace now from what I hear

I do not like what dead space has become but giving ME3 a 2/10??? people obviously have never played ANY rpgs if they score it that low.

The threats and non constructive criticism users post certainly doesn't help BioWare so why even post these comments (that is what the other person I believe was referring to).

We tried being nice, poliet, patient. We tried being civil and courteous with our questions. Then we still got treated like a bunch of ungrateful children. Bioware got the backlash they started.

When, exactly?<_<

...LOL :wizard:

Were you around for the cupcaek drive? That was one of the bigger events around here and sure, it had a jesting undertone, but we were nice about it and poliet to Bioware. Missed that one?

I was.

It was an interesting gesture to be sure. Though its meaning was anything but nice and polite. It was pouring salt on a smarting wound in a clever way.

Well, at least we didn't say to Bioware that they just didn't have the mental capacifty to understand the cupcaeks- oh no wait, that was Bioware about ME3 end to us players when we complained...

They started this fire kicking, so they should deal with it. I can't tolerate anymore of their condescending bull****.

Quotes where they said that, please.

Oh, there are none? That's just you interpreted what they said? I see.

Or they're just used to playing ****** RPGs that tend to have the emotional depth of a teacup.

Lore tends to be good though, at least in a handful.

Speculation for everyone don't cha know.

That is essentially what the Extended cut implies, people only follow the logical interpretation when people state things along the line of

"We realize that our players really didn't have a chance to say goodbye to these characters and they need that which is what we hope to provide in the extended cut."

"We realize that some of our most avid fans find the ending too abrupt so we will be expanding on these for them."

"These are things that we implied in the ending. We found it to be hopeful in this way, but the fanbase really interpreted it in ways we never immagined, taking it out of some of the context."

These quotes are from Casey, Mizuka and Mac respectively.

In these words they do a fair attempt at pissing on their fanbase and calling it rain.

Really not. The first two are based on actual FEEDBACK, including my own.

The third is an admission of the endings being taken in ways they did not anticipate. They saw them that way, we saw them differently. A stalemate, really. If THAT offends people, they need thicker skin. ASAP.

Mass Effect 3 deserves a lot better than the scores it got. Yeah the ending sucked we know, let's not harp on it and just move on now that the extended cut is out ok?

If EC had fixed the problems, maybe. Still deserves the 3 I gave it. Or was it a 4, I forget.

Well I'm just happy that they at least attempted to fix the problem to something that they didn't HAVE to fix. It's more than I can say for other developers.

Like who? What other developer has pissed off their fanbase to this degree and then proceeded to ignore them???

Not being snarky. (Since tone of voice just doesn't travel through the internet:P) Just asking the question.

Come on. We all know that this was the biggest fan reaction ever. In every other instances angry people wrote a few messages and then left. They didnt make petitions and polls over and over again, donated money, send the devs cupcakes and convinced Amazon to give refunds on a video game

Wouldn't you like to think that?

You weren't around when The Guild 2 launched, I suppose.

And screaming the loudest means little.

What the hell is The Guild 2? Never heard of it on the news or read of it in business papers.

The EC was far from the epic ending that Mass Effect deserved. The score should remain as a reminder in gaming history not to sell fans short on a proper ending in the hopes that they will buy more DLC.

No, he created a thread for those that enjoyed the EC. And when he replied to those that didn't, there was no hint of dissaproval, in fact, he seemed indifferent towards it.

When I see a thread saying JRPGS ARE THE BEST RPGS EVER, I will immediatley avoid it because in my opinion, it's bull****. Others might see this as bull****, but they could at least have the decency for us bull****ers to bull**** in peace.

First of all, who cares about Metacritic? It doesn't really mean anything. I hope people don't actually use it instead of checking out reviews. If people do, it's their loss.
Second, ME3's scores are 93 (X-Box 360, PS3) and 89 (PC). I don't see what's wrong with those numbers.

Rating ME3 below a 7, bad ending or not, is downright stupid. With that said, Metacritic user scores are useless. As much as I dislike some review sites, professional reviewers are way more reliable than the players.

Thanks for ruining metacritic, who can take that **** serious after all the retarded imbeciles that gave the game a 1 just because they didn't like the ending.

No. It isn't. With the ending the way it is, ME3 is a 6 at best. The main appeal to the Mass Effect series was the story and the lore. Ending ruined all that.
