That would imply that Destroy ending is the true ending, I just don't see it.

Romance is great but such a small part of the game, are people willing to pay for something that will essentially be a cheezy reunion moment?

I mean I get the desire, but it sets a dangerous precedent.

I think you're both wrong and right about things,  I mean sure it's going to be the POPULAR Ending but that doesnt automatically make it canon

If I wasnt attached to certain charachters I probably would have considered Synth or Control any day.

Completely unrelated game, but just take it into context. Metro2033 had Two endings, a "Bad" and a "Secret good", but they established the bad ending as being the canon one for it's sequel.

I mean that's kind of going in the opposite direction but you get my point, anything is possible.

Here's what I think this scene is leading to and why it was added to begin with. No it wasn't added because of the IT and it also wasn't added for the continuation for a ME4, well at least that wasn't what was intended originally by this scene. I believe now more than ever that this "Shepard Breathing" scene was added to introduce a future Romance DLC Pack where you are reunited with your love interest as he/she searches for your wounded body in the rubble of the Citadel. Obviously, your Love Interest must have some kind of hope that Shepard is still alive if they never fully placed the nameplate on the wall.

BioWare gave the explanation that they didn't want to canonize what happened after that moment. Because anything they would show us would be different from what the fans wanted to see. This is a very personal scene. If you have 10 ppl debating this, there will be 10 different ideas as to what should happen next. So they made the decision to very heavily hint towards a reunion, probably as soon as the Normandy gets back to earth since I have no doubt Hackett would send every available person to look for Shepard or his body as soon as the smoke clears. They just left it up to us to imagine what the reunion should be like.

The one reason why I do not like this approach is simple: If I want to imagine something happened, I will write some fanfiction, it really should have been in the game. But I can live with this. It's not perfect but at least it's loads better than what we had...

I've also noticed that the LI looks almost happy in the Destroy ending, where you get the breathing scene.

Ditto.
Like the LI is just so determined that Shep is still alove.
Seriously - this is the ONLY concern i had left after watching the EC last night. Im good with everything else. But....everyone seemed to be grieving so much at the memorial wall....yet Shep is alive! Every1 except the LI seemed convinced otherwise.

Im sure Bioware has SOMETHING up their sleeve. They cant just ignore all that shepard breathing scene. Heck - on the contrary - they ADDED to it with the whole "*insert LI name* doesnt put plague on memorial wall scene". Why would they make those particular scenes if there wasnt something brewing? The reunion scene is the ONLY loose end missing to be honest. And it was kinda bothering me as I watched the credits. Come on Bioware, its the only thing left! You can do it! Seriously, you can take ALL MY MONEY! XD *throws money at screen*
Bioware never denied the idea of a romance dlc before the game was released..... sooooo...... yea! DO IT!

It just sets a dangerous precedent though and implies one ending is superior to the others.

Eh, there still is that "The Peace wont last" thing, and Geth+EDI dead.
And after the EC it is even more obvious that the catalysts logic is meant to be correct.

So if you sum it all up the game shows it like this:

Synthesis
- Reapers help rebuilding
- EDI and Geth (if you did not let them die before) alive
- Peace forever
- Things like immortality possible
- Shepard dead

Control
- Reapers help rebuilding
- EDI and Geth (if you did not let them die before) alive
- Immortal Shepard-Catalyst to solve any problems that might come up
- Shepard dead

Destroy
- No Reaper help
- EDI and Geth dead
- Synthetic-Organic conflict likely (since the catalyst is meant to be correct)
- Shepard not dead yet, so he MAY survive

Aside from the ethical issues, which are not really part of the game and not shown in any way, Synthesis and Control both have more than one advantage over Destroy.

Shepard has to survive in Destroy, otherwise Destroy, as the endings are shown by the EC, is just inferior in every way!
Shepards possible survival is only a maybe-advantage, as it is you have to headcanon any advantage destroy might have, while Synthesis/Control advantages are shown on the other hand!

As it is shown destroy is inferior, a reunion whould bring it on par with the other endings.

Yeah, no. That would be punishing everyone who didn't pick the Destroy ending, and that's simply not going to happen.

Wishful thinking.

Edit: Stop with the nested quotes already. Jesus H.

A lot of fans want it, but Bioware says no. No DLC pertaining to the endings, and no post game DLC. Unfortunately.

I only want it if I get to see Jack again. Ash was my LI in the first game. I ditched her for Jack and kept it that way in ME3. As much as I love the new endings and would love to see a reunion DLC. I`d have liked to see Jack place my name on the wall in Control/synthesis. So if this is going to happen, Jack`s face better be the first one I see when Shep is found.

whered you hear this? its a certain fact that they are certainly NOT done with dlc, whether it has anything to do with the ending or not. i can tell you for a fact that there will be a dlc where you help Aria retake Omega; thats not confirmed, but so obvioulsy planted in the storyline, i cant wait.
there are little references to a reunion here and there, check jessica merizans twitter, or a few of developer Tully Acklands posts and youll see some consistencies with the ideas stated here.

But Tully has said over and over that the end is the end. No reuniting DLC. It's over. And Jessica was right... the destroy ending implies a reunion. But that's it. But hey, I'd be all for a Rescue Shepard DLC or building a home with Tali DLC. I know SP content is coming, but everything points to no reunite DLC after the fact.

Easy question to answer I believe we buy armor packs , weapon packs, appearance packs and so forth ,I don't think its a stretch people would pay for a Journey to Find an old friend.  just an opinion
