Why Bioware this is one of the things most people asked for in the extended cut. Why didin't you put it in

Because it's cliché and silly and it would make the already bad ending even worse.

They could have the squad find Shepard or re-unite and if you don't have a romance started then there would be nothing about the scene to upset people who feel romance is cliche.

Besides Bioware did a great job with the LI goodbye scene on earth, I'm sure they'd do a classy job with a re-uniting scene as well.  I'll never understand why people keep acting like showing Shepard being found/reuniting with the crew somehow turns Mass Effect into a disney happy ending.  Bioware has enough sense not to take the game in that direction.

I said this elsewhere but I'll crosspost and put it here also:

One of the goals for the Extended Cut, as part of addressing player feedback, was to provide more time with the love interest, and more opportunity for players to say goodbye to them and provide additional moments of connection between them. We did this in several ways:

  • Shepard can now actually say goodbye to the love interest when they are split up at the conduit run.
  • When Shepard sees flashbacks of important characters during the final decision, the flashbacks are now variable based on your playthrough – so your love interest can appear as one of the flashbacks, providing another moment of reflection between Shepard and that character.
  • A memorial scene was added, partly to show a close bond between Shepard and the love interest. The scene is variable, and if Shepard has a love interest in a given playthrough, it will be that character who places Shepard’s name on the memorial wall.
  • You may notice that in the “Shepard lives” ending, the love interest hesitates to place Shepard’s name on the wall, and instead looks up as though deep in thought. This is meant to suggest that the love interest is not ready to believe Shepard is dead, and the final scene reveals they are correct. As the Normandy lifts off, there is hope that the love interest and Shepard will again be together.

Sorry, thats not enough.

Maybe you should see a therapist if it hurts you so bad.

Or choose Synthesis; it's the same thing only much weirder.

Right, because happy endings are too mainstream, right?

Guys...they pretty much confirmed that they do get back together. It's just up to us to fill in the blanks.

That's it.

Yep.

A reunion was HEAVILY implied in the EC.

Headcanon it. Bioware left it for us.

Some people don't like cheesy reunions so it was for the benefit of all that it was left out.

>Some people don't like

>The benefit of all

>Some

>All

See the contradiction there?

and the reunion could not be explicit because?

Because apparently a large portion of Bioware's current writing and producing staff are emo?  That's all I got ... 'cause they certainly gave us a clearer shot at it at the end of ME1 and 2 so anything about "artistic integrity" as a defense is weak there.

Walt Disney would have chosen Synthesis and been happy about it.

This is my one and only problem with the EC.

Wasn't it said to be possible via Twitter?
