I first played mass effect about a year after mass effect 2 was released, I had never heard of them and my wife recommended them via her brother. I played the first one and loved it, loved the lore, loved the characters, my only complaints were 1) I couldnt romance tali and 2) The tedious collections while driving around the mako. there were others but those are the only 2 that stood out.

After I finished the first I went straight into the second. I thought the first game was great, but I thought the second game was amazing, I dont speak for any technical sides, I could care less if a game is alittle glitchy, what I care about is story and characters, Flying around the galaxy picking up a perfect team for a suicide mission (I lost 3 crew members in the final fight) That last mission was one of my greatest gaming experiences ever. So much so that I played a second play through the second i finished the first, determined to get my whole crew to survive (This was the first time I had done that for any 360 game, instantly replay a campaign with no break).

The third game comes along, I love the opening, I loved how my choices effected the story throughout the game, I felt it when Mordin, Thane,  and Legion died, I felt it when I rekindled the love with Tali, I was focused when I chose to cure the genophage and unite the geth/quarian, The game was perfect (again, im speaking story, not technical or bugs or anything else, those dont matter to me) Then the final mission, on earth, talking to my crew again felt like a great way to begin the end and the mission on earth itself was intense and engaging, then the ending happened. The big controversy everyone comlpained about, I wasnt vocal about it, I wasnt in a rage like many, but I was disapointed. I felt like

1) My crew was stranted on a planet with no hope to escape
2) No mass effect relays ment this mythos I loved had no hope for a real future
and most importantly
3) I didnt get to see what happened to those that mattered, yes they on my crew, but also Jack, Kasumi, Wrex, and the rest, I felt short changed.

Finally the new extended cut came, was it perfect? no, but you did fix my top 3 issues, i felt like my game had hope now (after watching all 3 endings, control is my desicion for my world) I like that shepard lives (if in a different form) and in my mind the future is now open for the people I cared about in this game that has had I would say, a bigger impact on me then any other 360 game, and maybe even any game I have ever played.

I write this because I see alot of flack still going out and felt I needed to voice this, so again, thank you Bioware :) *gets ready for the hate replies*
