Oh yes, I am sure.  Because I am doing the work BioWare didn't and using my imagination.

I am also using the basic definitions of 'Code' and 'Breathing' which pretty much allow me to know what I said is true. Even if the author also should have known that when they wrote their nonsense.

Anderson shooting the tube is just an assumption of what Anderson would possibly do if he was on Shepard's place. This doesn't make him "Avatar of Destroy".

Death, destruction, and intimidation is what the Renegade mostly about. Destruction of some valuable resource that can be used in the future is pure Renegade choice no matter some "color play" or game bugs.

This is not about "good" or "evil". This is not about "moral". There are no universal ethical rules. There are particular game rules. Rules that say Renegade is about death, destruction, and intimidation.



If you are thinking that Destroy is Paragon, then you are just trying to justify a choice you don't actually like.

Funny that destroying the collector base just happens to be the paragon option.

Renegade = destroying things and killing people even if there is a valid alternative.
Paragon = avoiding unneeded deaths and destruction.

Destroy = Renegade.
Refusal = Renegade.
Synthesis = Paragon.
Control is very complicated and has both Paragon and Renegade variants.

This is what the endings are.

I'd argue that none of the endings have any particular alignment to Paragon and Renegade, such is the "greyness" they were going for.

I certainly wouldn't class Refusal as renegade. As mentioned on here before, Paragon tends to involve choices based on idealism and Renegade tends to involve choices based on pragmatism.

Refusal is probably the most "idealist" of the choices. It's Shepard saying that he'll fight to the end based on his beliefs and he is unwilling to compromise those beliefs by choosing one of those three choices.

"I won't let fear compromise who I am"

The refusal speech is actually the most "Paragon Shepard" thing I hear in the ending sequence. At least, in my opinion.

"I fight for freedom, mine and everyone's. I fight for the right to choose our own fate. And if I die, I'll die knowing that I did everything I could to stop you. And I'll die free".

 I picked destroy, and TBH, until people on BSN started pointing out the colors, I didn't even think of the ending choices as paragon/medium/renegade.

I still consider destroy the only 'winning' ending, seeing as it is the only ending that allows for the possibility of Shep living and more imporatntly, finishing up on what he set out to do in ME1 (destroy - not control or synthesize with - the reapers).
