umm, my full renegade sheps all pick destroy... Destroy isnt paragon or renegade... its just the choice that is honestly most in line with most "Shepard's" personalities... whether it was at any cost or it was done without compromising your beliefs... the ultimate goal was always to kill the reapers

I played total paragon all through the series, with some renegade choices here and there. Now, I chose destroy prior and again after the EC.
In my opinion the paragon/renedgade options are really moot at the end, color means nothing, you have th look and listen carefully to what starchild says to you.
In the gran scheme of things, the reapers want to live on, if you agree synthetic life is worth saving and really believe the geth and EDI should be part of it then control is the way to go, not synthesis since you are not really controlling the reapers, they could potentially come back to wipe out everyone again. That is my view anyways, also, you are in a sense re-writing everyone genetically so that is just creepy. Control's negative is you are now a god like figure and that is way too much power for one person to have, you and you alone can dictate the galaxy and is that truly freedom, however, as long as you are in control, at least the reapers can't wipe everyone out and you also save synthetic life.
I also factored in surviving, in control and synthesis you die no questions, destroy there is a chance you live maybe to see your LI again. I have high EMS so I think I got the better endings.
After all these factors, I still would take destroy, I have made scrafices all through the series and if I have to allow the geth and EDI to die essentially to dave the galaxy so be it. However, I keep this in mind, I was able to stop the geth/quarian war and also allowed EDI a chance to walk among us. I never intended her to die, however, I do recall if you have high enough EMS, the starchild mentions the reapers will die and some synthetic life will be around still.
I am ok with the EC endings and the closure this series has given, however, i do wish they could at oleast show if she lives a final scene where he sees his LI, anyways that is my take and my only regret for the game.

Heck yes... can't even bring myself to touch control or green-eyed scariness.

Destroy or refuse

I agree. I just don't believe Control or synthesis are solutions at all.

With green people can still create pure synthetic IA, and you force every piece of life to be partly synthetic. With Control
Shepard will end having the same mentallity reapers had, as he says, he didnt understand what was eternity and immortallity, now he has all the time in the universe, yeah he is no more a human, so he'll change his mind.

Destroy, despite of the geth, is the paragon option for me. Every hero should know he can't save everyone... And they can try to rebuild the geth.. somehow. As stated by Hackett, "We'll rebuild everything" EVERYTHING.

Not talking about what should've been the best option, reject, opening more possibilities. Instead of that they just say "Oh, then screw you, we win until the next cycle". That was ridiculous.

So yeah, maybe Shepard is still alive, maybe not. Maybe the geth cannot be saved. Maybe EDI dies. IDK, IDC, Shepard stopped the reapers, the galaxy's saved, and I'm sure no one (at least not in a billion years) will create something like the reapers again.

Four play throughs so far. Two paragon and two renegade. Each one I've chosen the Destroy option and I won't change it. None of the options are based on paragon or renegade, regardless of what color is where.
Shepard has been out to end the Reaper threat for once and for all. The only way to do that is by destroying them.
And I still don't believe that lying little bastard anyway, so I'm headcanoning IT like a boss. :P

I play only paragon characters. I completed ME3 four times: I chose destruction x 2, control x 1 and syntesis x 1.

Me too. Anderson has always been pure paragon, and destroy was his choice too.

i bet everyone picked destroy at least once...because shepard "lives"..since I believe that is the initial main reason for everyone picking destroy...that very much is a renegade option because of how selfish that is...."I rather live so I can going to kill off all synthetic life in order to have a chance of surviving"....

The main goal from the very start.......DESTROY THE REAPERS!

Also......DESTROY REAPER INFLUENCE!

I play 95% Paragon. I chose Destroy pre-EC, chose Destroy post-EC. It's the least terrible ending.

its not paragon...paragon shep wouldnt take the easy way out...if that was the case, paragon shep wouldve killed off the rachni queen in ME1 because of convenience...he would have SAVE the collector base because of the potential weapon tech that could arise from the base against the reapers....he would have wiped out every colonist on ferons (the thorian planet) because why risk the spread of spores....

I guess youre right....my paragon shep is very different from yours....

As has been said before, I think Bioware were trying to blur the lines between paragon and renegade. But for my Shep, who was paragon, destroy was the only option. Any ending where the reapers live is an abomination to me.

Yup.

I did consider Control for a few moments until I remembered this bit from earlier in the game:

The Paragon interrupt on rannoch, while talking to the dying Reaper:

"You. Whatever species you came from, before the Reapers decided to preserve them?

They're dead. They died thousands of years ago. ...and now they can rest in peace."

After that, the only real Paragon option for her was Destroy (Synthesis had way too many unknowns, and Soldier Shep, smart as she may be, is no scientist).

She'll always regret and mourn the necessity of the choice, but never having made it.

To be fair, that is something of a (quite valid) metagame argument: at the point of choosing Shepard is being told that they'll die too.

So you would keep reaper influence? What if they turn on you again not to mention what sparing the reaper would do to our future!

We will build our OWN future without them!  <There is no better ending then that!

So, a question, paragon players - do you consider Destroy ending to be a renegade option?

no

I was pretty much entirely paragon except for when the renegade option was funny and I picked destroy. My reasoning is that Shepherd's job is to kill the Reapers at all costs- not to become a space god, not to force everyone to glow green against their consent. Sacrifice billions to save trillions.

I picked control and I still don't see it being more paragon than destroy. Renegade and paragon are both about having different moralities, when in the ending all of the choices are immoral.
