ME3 had too many good moments in it to be written off for me. Liara and Aethyta, curing the genophage and that whole scenario, uniting the geth and Quarians, Conrad Verner, asari huntress counselling sessions, too many to name them all. I don't think I've ever been (or will be again) so emotionally attached to a game and its characters and it was all the better for it.
While far from perfect I'd always pretty much taken the original ending at face value, and indeed the EC confirms this with little more closure. Yay, Thessia ^^

I don't regret it, but I do regret being cheap and buying only the standard version when I preordered ME 3.
With the EC, I am extremely happy with the endings and feel I am in for a lot more enjoyment with ME 3, and will be enjoying it all the way through from ME to ME 3.

Ending the Genophage, giving the Quarians back their home, ending Cerberus, being with Garrus, all those things made ME3 worth it in my book.

I was glad that I played it up until the end of Tuchanka. After that, for me anyways, the gameplay (autodialogue, lack of choice, linear shooting galleries, etc) and storyline issues (poorly explained Rachni betrayel, meaningless trip to Rannoch that was entirely forgotten by Bioware at the end of the game, etc.) became too great for me to enjoy it any longer. . . and then I reached those awful endings. Sure the EC closed some plot holes, mind you rather poorly (why did Harbinger just stare at the Normady as it hovered right under his nose?), but I still do not care to ever play the 3rd game again.

Well, I still have one play through to complete for OCD reasons (currently around halfway through ME2) and will do so happily all the way to the end of 3.

i regret seeing everything from final battle on earth to the EC end. everything before that even how inconsistant and crap it was i could put up with.
they botched a conclusion to the saga so bad that nothing they do now can erase this bull**** from existance.
as with Kotor i would even go as far as regarding ME3 as a non-event like TSL and just have ME end with ME2 until a better alternate explanation comes along

I dislike the ending but love the series. I can't regret it even though I find the ending to be a disappointment...it is my favorite franchise of all time.
To rectify my disappointment I wrote an alternate ending, please check it out and leave me your feedback:

Not at all. Mass Effect 3 was such a great chapter in the trilogy that the original ending was such a daunting drop in quality by comparison. By being vocal about people's distaste for it, people ended up moving a mountain. Whether or not you think the EC was redemption or a failure (I fall into the redemption category), the fans influenced BioWare into doing something unprecedented. Mass Effect 3 may end up being my favorite game of all time just because of all of the passion it invoked from the fanbase.

Don't forget helping Conrad get together with Jenna. I wouldn't wish that away for all the Eezo on Thessia.

Yep I wish I had never gotten the game. This is the worst game next to DA2 that has been produced by Bioware.

When I got to the endings of ME3 I wished I'd never played ME1 which got me into the franchise. Since I have not yet finished my EC-playthrough of the trilogy, I won't judge by now.

No I don't, although I can relate to why you feel this way.
In all honesty: if the came had never been released, I'd been left "directionless" - I simply wouldn't know what to do, what to think of the characters, story, gameplay or the universe of Mass Effect. The game is a disappointment - all of it (Tuchanka was okay though), not just the mere ending. I'm glad that I've played it since I now know how I feel about the franchise, but also Bioware in general. The thought about whether or not I'd been happier if I'd never played Mass Effect 3 have crossed my mind - multiple times.

I didn't enjoy Mass Effect 3 as much as the two first games. I don't know, it's not just the ending. I can't really say what it is, but something with ME3 just felt wrong. Played through Mass Effect 3 for the first time today and I doubt that I will play it anymore. But now after the EC where I know that everything Shepard did wasn't for nothing I can replay the first two games many more times.

Of course not, it's a good game.

Eh. The game itself was a bit of a disappointment, even without the ending. Your decisions made no difference, aside from in the Genophage and Quarian/Geth, were laughably overwritten (here's looking at you, Rachni) or were just flat-out ignored (rest in peace, Collector Base). Then there's the dumbing down of the RPG factors, less dialogue options, etc...
And the overall plot was just idiotic from the beginning. You find information about some giant thingy and decide to throw all your resources into a complete guess? They didn't even know what it did or how it worked or why it would work! Ugh. And then of course the ending... which at least was repaired somewhat by the EC.
I would say I wish I hadn't played, if only they fixed it up some more. Although a good game it just could've been so much more.

Nah, though I kind of regret not having an Xbox 360/powerful PC to play the series... But only by a little bit. It was all an accident when I got to this series. I saw the demo of Mass Effect 2 at the PSN, and I had nothing better to do, so I tried it. Then I found the game for $30. That was pretty cheap, so I bought it.
Then I saw the trailer for the Collector's Edition for ME3... It came with the soundtrack... I HAD to buy it!
So, yeah, my expectation for this game wasn't really high to begin with. I just wanted the soundtrack, and those extra guns. And talking to the peeps in the game... And Aethyta... Man, Aethyta is awesome...

No. The game made me cry manly tears several times, even a couple more times with the EC. Any game that can do that is priceless.

Even before the extended cut, I was very happy that I bought and played ME3. The original ending was a mess, and it did detract from the experience for me a lot. But the actual gameplay of ME3 was by far the best of the trilogy, the smoothest to control, and provided the best balance of RPG elements from ME1 without the inventory mess and stupid minigame wheel with the streamlined gameplay elements of ME2 without limiting choices and upgrades so severely. I thought the character interactions on the ship and on missions were by far the best of the three games, although the new characters were disappointing (EDI was fun but a little cliche, Jarvik is mostly annoying and adds almost nothing to the storyline, and James is hands down the worst character in all three games).
Having replayed all three games in the last few months, I liked the plot, ending, and settings of ME1 the best, the characters and the character-focused missions of ME2 the best, and the gameplay, graphics, and character interactions of ME3 the best. I didn't let the crappy original ending ruin my enjoyment of a fantastic series, just like I didn't start hating the Matrix because of the muddled third movie or Star Wars because of the crappy prequels. Did I lose some faith in Bioware? Sure, but the extended cut resolved most of my complaints with ME3 and provided the closure that had been missing, and I wasn't going to let a poor closing act fire me up in to nerd rage to ruin the entire rest of the experience. I'll just be unlikely to buy future Bioware games at launch, instead waiting to evaluate them and let them get patched (or finished, if needed) before committing my time and money.

Nope, no regrets. Even with the old ending. EC just made it so much better for me.
