five years of awesome space adventuring and badassery ruined by lazy unimaginative writing which resulted in the ending being ten minutes of absolute bullshlt an ending probably made for all the first time mass effect players, mass effect 4 will be called mass duty call of effect it will be set on earth with no aliens and the villains will either be russians asians or muslims a 8hr campaign and player vs player multiplayer on crappy ea servers...... all they had too do was give an ending where shepard kicks ass and saves everyone

Haters gonna hate while its still petty that some people need to overreact on Shepard's fate and the basic MP.  Really if hated what you hated then you most likely wouldn't be here.

Well, as for playing it prior to the Extended Cut NO. However, I have reason to keep playing the series again when I get a hankrin to play it again.

Now, if I were able to erase what I know from the game and play it like I had for the first time with the Extended Cut in place. That I would love to experience. Too bad I can't. Even though the endings pre-EC were horrible. It will still stick with me forever. I just wish I didn't have to experience that because it felt like a kick in the nuts. I do wish I could erase the knowledge of my first playthrough and give it a go with a fresh unknowing of the ending controversy.

Well ... it is hard to say. I like gameplay of ME3 over ME2 (ME2 was something like beta testing for ME3). Story was best in ME1 and then ME2 over ME3 (I liked mood in ME3 but undefeatable enemy and god-like weapon is just stupid ... not saying about deus ex god-like child AI). Then I loved many "open air" parts in ME2 (ME1 second and ME3 got fewest). And of corse best ending so far had ME2 (or most epic), ME1 second and ME3 (even with EC) far-far behind them. And big + for ME3 is Multiplayer which I would rather see as coop (maybe in ME4?). So its more like I would wait until ME3 drop price at least 50% if I knew about game what I know now instead of buying it at day 1.

After a while to reflect and finally seeing the EC I think have an answer.
Yes.  I wish I had never played ME3.  Personally speaking the pain it caused is not worth the enjoyment it gave me

How do you feel?

It only caused that much pain because 90% of the people here take everything to seriously.

Nobody seemed to go  "okay, the ending blows, but hey its not like it killed my dog"

But apparently, somehow it did.

You people need to get your priorities straight, it's completely fine to be really upset over an ending like that, but you guys took it to a whole new level of ridiculous.

This is very true while at least they spoke for the vocal minority.

No. I enjoyed most of ME3. I admit the ending was dissapointing and witht the EC it was better but still underwhelming. I will still be playing regardless of the ending.

You clearly don't understand just how little I have going on in my life :)

Nope. I kind of wonder why the people who hate the game are still here. You're talking about something you don't enjoy anymore. Time to move on.

Hate is a strong word. Being upset with the developers is not the same as disliking the game or the series.

Yes.

The ending sucked and still sucks, and I'm not buying anymore games or DLC made by the devs. It's a shame so much of the fanbase is eating the EC up, because ending still ruins the entire series. One of the cool things about the lore in the first Mass Effect was that it all seemed pretty consistent. By the end of Mass Effect 3, we meet some random character who makes the plot of Mass Effect 1 totally pointless. It's sad to see how far the series has fallen, and it's sad that the fanbase is celebrating this. Mass Effect is dead.

Personally, I'm not interested in playing a game set in a universe that makes no sense.

If that is the case I do wonder why you'd post here.  To each their own.

The clearest way for me to answer this topic is: No.

No, I've enjoyed it, even with the original ending.
If you had a good time playing with it... Why regret it?

Not at all, other than the ending (which I didn't overly mind in the first place) I had a absolute blast, the characters were good, the romance between most of the crew were excellent (Liara's still being my favourite). That 99.9% of the game that gave me hours of entertainment and ultimately put a smile on my face mattered more than the end in my opinion, and now with the EC I finally got that sense of closure. So no, I do not wish I never played it, not for a second.

Yes and No.

Yes I wish I had never played ME3 because I was very disappointed with ME3 and as a result I find I no longer have any interest in gaming anymore. Playing ME3 has killed something inside of me and has left me very bitter and empty inside.

No, I'm glad I played ME3 because I had already invested a lot emotionally into the ME Universe after ME1 and ME2, I needed to play ME3, I had to play ME3, if I didn't then I would have never have been able to get piece of mind ( not that I'm in a better state right now ). I started this journey and for better and for worse I had to finish it and even though I'm not happy with where I ended up at the end of the journey I can't argue that the experience hasn't been educational.

No, it is a great game that that is a fine example of modern game design that explores complex themes and intricate character development that is a fine cap to a trilogy. I love every moment beginning, middle, end, and everything in between. It is a brilliant example of existentialism is gaming. 10/10. This my opinion and I am sticking to it. B)

No, whatever the game may have been and what has become, even with whatever amounts of jerking around it is still one hell of a gaming experience, I don't regret the money I spent on it nor the time.

Even if I don't agree with many things in it or some other things make me feel a certain amount of rage I will still replay all the games, with pleasure, after the EC.

EDIT: after all of this, one thing is certain, the game will never be forgotten no matter what impression it left on you, unlike many other games that you simply forget in a month.
