You can see the results of helping Redcliffe, Circle Tower, Brecillian forest and Orzammer during the game.

It would take a while for Denerim and Redcliffe to be rebuilt after the battle. And there are some outcomes that take a while to happen, like that kid in Redcliffe that becomes an adventurer.

I think the postcard epilogue is the best way they could have done it. Only thing I would want is more optional detail in the epilogues to find out about minor characters like Ser Cauthrien.

with a voice over telling me what happened to everyone.. That would have been more satisfying I think even though it would still have pretty much been the same thing we have now just done a bit differently.

The last time a game developer tried to get a voice over done on a variable epilogue with dozens of entries depending on your choices, Ron Perlman threatened to go on a killing spree. :P

Postcard epilogue over stills of the parade would have been the best way to go now that I read this thread :]

Well, here's my problem with this scenario, as I replied to another thread concerning this very thing, in some endings, you are quite dead. Now, unless you have become an abomination, you won't be having much running around. Point being, why write content for after an encounter with a good chance that the PC will be dead?

@David: I think people call you mean because you talk to them like a human being talking to another human being instead of a PR mouthpiece coddling the public. Instead of falling over yourself to act fake apologetic for not having everything the customer could desire, you acknowledge that such a feature would be cool (albeit impractical) but politely question the idea that such a thing would be expected or that anyone would feel tricked by it not being present. To me, this is refreshing and your responses to specific questions or issues usually actually address the issue and answer any major questions, unlike a lot of devs who whisper sweet nothings to placate their customers. Apparently, to some people this seems mean or rude. Don't sweat it - plenty of us appreciate your forthrightness.

I agree with the OP! 4th play through. Would like to have gone around and cleaned up stray bands of darkspawn. Could have done the quests I never finished. Visited the towns to see what they needed. Or they could have done small clip type movies of the goings on. Oh well maybe later in a patch or something. :)

I just wanted a cutscene of my PC being paraded around with an honor guard while all of Denerim cheers for her and flower petals are tossed at her.

Well, since its a story driven game, once the story is finished theres really not much to do...its the same as the KOTOR games, or BG 1 + 2...its not designed as a free-roaming game. You haven't been cheated, you simply had the wrong expectations from the game. I expect that Bioware felt that players would be more likely to want to start a new game rather than wander around the map getting their egos boosted by the NPCs

Sure ... but it easily would be possible to allow for *both*, don't you think?
I think it would become boring quickly to explore a "static" world where you've done everything, so wandering about after the story would stop soon anyway ... (and that's very likely the reason Bioware did not include this feature).

First of all you DO get an epilogue both in action and text.

Secondly, as far as I know, you can load your last save-game after completing which will cause you to be in camp from where you can enter DLC content and other stuff.

Perhaps some kind of export function would be useful, so the hero could be used to play other modules created by Bioware or the community based on DA.

I myself find only the end of the game disappointing. How you get a few silly screens explaining what happens next to SOME characters an plot places... It sadly didn't actually do it for me... Some "outro" would be better...

Altho if you sacrifice yourself... The ending gives a bit of closure.
