I cried when the Normandy flew in it was really sad becaue I knew I might let my shepard die and the look on Kaidan's face was to much

Is it just me or did it sound like Harby was firing at the Normandy as it pulled away? I didn't see a beam but the sounds played anyway, probably a glitch?

Meh....to me it felt patronizing...much like most of the ending. How did they get on the Normandy!? Oh...well here's the Normandy in the middle of the beam run to pick it up (why wasn't that there in the original ending?) Not to mention all the other patronizing **** they put in.

What? The relays destroyed? Galactic civilization is screwed!
-Nope...we can rebuild EVERYTHING.
But why was Joker fleeing?
-Uhhh...OH! Hacket told him to run to the rendezvous point that we didn't hear about until just now.
But my crewmates are stranded on that stupid gilligan's planet!
-Oh don't worry about that, they'll lift off again like 5 minutes later (pointless freaking scene)

I can go on.

It's not patronizing. These are all things that indeed needed clarification.

And they were all things that should have been in the original ending. I agree they needed clarification...but to me it felt like the minimum effort was put in to do so. What's the point of the Normandy crashing...for instance...if it takes off again like 5 minutes later?

Good Guy Harbinger waits and doesn't shoot you while your squad gets picked up; WOULD'NT IT HAVE BEEN  MORE LOGICAL FOR THE NORMANDY TO DISTRACT HARBINGER WITH LASERS AND STUFF WHILE YOU AND YOUR SQUAD GE T TO THE BEAM?!?!?!?!?!

NOooooooooooooooooo, because **** logic.

I loved it.

Liara's "...I am yours" line holds a lot of meaning, coming from someone with 900~ years left to live.

Miranda is my LI, so the scene was one more way from bw to say "you choose the wrong LI."

Saying goodbye to your squadmates was good.

The Normandy was not. Why not have something more sensible like...a shuttle pick them up? Hey that would be a great idea, make Steve Cortez useful for once instead of "STTTTEEEEVVVVEEE! you sure?" Instead we get 'Joker, please abandon fighting in space to rescue my two squadmates and two squadmates alone! also don't fire on Harbinger even though he is decimating us and you have superior firepower like Javelin Missles and the Thanix Cannon, you gotta get out of here!"

IMO the Normandy should have jumped in, fired a blast from its Thanix cannons and picked up the injured squadmates while Harby recovered. That would have made more sense.

I loved it. The goodbye scene with the wounded squadmates is fantasic, especially if the more seriously wounded one is your LI.

While some people don't like that the Normandy is evacuating wounded in the middle of the beam rush, I don't have any major issues with it. Even during the amphibious assaults on Normandy, Tarawa or Iwo Jima during WW2, there were landing craft and amtracs making multiple trips through heavy fire both deploying troops and evacuating the more seriously wounded while the beachhead was still very much contested. So the evac itself isn't really unrealistic.

Of course what made those evacs possible was the 'safety in numbers' aspect, where the enemy could destroy some landing craft and amtracs but certainly not all of them. With that in mind the Normandy evac scene would probably have worked better if there were fighters and other frigates making a run against Harbinger in that scene, to provide a distraction for the ground force.

As it is, I think the scene still works somewhat though. Harbinger may have been ignoring the Normandy as it was just evacuating wounded at the time, and he had more pressing issues with tanks, troops, and gunships being close to the beam. The Normandy not being fired at by Harbinger can be chalked up to Harbinger giving it a low priority and focusing entirely on the ground force.

Even Harbinger loved it, since he didn't dare to cut the Normandy in half.

Honestly ... I thought the Normany airlift was an excellent inclusion, and it made the whole dash to the beam even more epic.

Javik was with me. When he started pleading to be allowed to fight on with Shepard, I found it genuinely moving. I can't speak for the other companion characters, but Javik's voice acting was brilliant, and that little scene added a real layer of depth to his personality. You could see in that moment that beating the Reapers was his whole life, and he passed the torch, the responsibility, to Shepard with great reluctance. Brilliant.

After all the stick BioWare has been getting, they deserve credit for the things they do right. I hope someone on the staff reads this and all the other nice comments.

didnt really like it because it didnt resolve the issue that was complained about. we see joker pickup the 2 people we had with us, but what about everyone else? they were all on earth. did every single one of them get into trouble? did joker abandon the space fight and just fly around london picking up only shepards crew and not helping anyone else?

having shepard calling for evac and then having 2 injured squadmates walking back away from harbinger, or having one of them say even a single line to ashley or joker when they boarded about why everyone had run away from the most important fight

I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the ending now; I mean sure, the slide show wasn't so good, really wished they were cut scenes instead. But it was just perfect; it was a beautiful way to end Shepard's story. The addition of a fourth decision was also great and the explanations you get for each decision was also a good idea.

Overall, I loved the EC; the different narratives of each ending was also touching.

While the pickup scene was well executed quality-wise, I didn't like it that much. It felt too tacked-on for the sake of plugging the plothole. Why Normandy flew in and not the shuttle? Why Harbinger ignored it? Surely if it could just fly in this way, they could've skipped quite a lot of Hammer...

It seemed out of place at first but to be honest I can forgive them for that as it gave me a proper chance to say at least a small goodbye to my LI.

I very much enjoyed it.

However it would have been much more believable if STEEEVE had shown up in a hastily repaired shuttle to do the pickup, while Joker harassed Harbinger; then have Shepard order Joker to cover the shuttle until they can rendezvous for pickup.
