Has anyone else experienced this?

When running DAO in the background (windowed mode) I often get a "your connection has been lost" message which I close, but my Internet connection gets real flaky and I cannot access other web sites until I close DAO.

Just curious if anyone else noticed that.

Other computers in my home NOT running DAO all access the Internet fine. And they all go through the same router.

So, my theory is if the DAO connection is lost, it somehow ganks you network card/internet connectivity.

Can those having troubles try disabling all of the online features from in-game, and see if DAO still causes issues? All of the online features can be disabled from the in-game options screen, and you should be able to narrow it down to a particular type of online usage. If it still happens with all in-game online disabled, odds are it is the DAUpdater service (required for DLC) that is misbehaving, and disabling that in your windows control panel should then resolve it (though then your DLC wouldn't work).

If anyone does narrow this down to a particular feature/service, please post the results so BioWare has a chance to fix whatever is wrong!
