"Reject" was a fan request, it's not meant as a FU

Ah well, some people will rage for the sake of raging. It's hard to tell on the internet if that's the case or not. But I heard a nice simile for anger.

Anger is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die.

So long as I can have a reasonable discussion without being called a heartless killer because of events in a fictional universe and I followed a certain ending, I am content. If I am called such things, I can simply log off, go to the DA2 section and discuss mages and templars, or simply go play Skyrim. Through all the options, the anger and issue is no longer my problem.

Which is to make the case for what exactly? Being complicit in genocide, the slavery of another race or the willful circumvention of inalienable human\\alien rights is ok when faced with a tough choice? Please.

And let me ask you if you're for the willful genocide of every human, asari, krogan, turian, quarian, geth, and salarian? If you reject the catalyst, that's exactly what happens.

If you're not for that, simply choose one of the three options. Either way, you have to sacrifice a great deal and make a hard choice. Do you sacrifice your morals and go with destroy, control, or synthesis, do you keep your morals but sacrifice everything and everyone for the sake of that, or do you simply not care, turn the game off, and go play another one?

Up to you really.

The entire reason tough choices are made is to get a better result.

You don't make hard choice to get a mediocre outcome.

Fan requests:

1. Provide a way to say ‘no’ to the Catalyst. Implicit assumption: at this point, you’re free to roam the area. Implicit hope: additional options created by saying no.

2. A failure ending cinematic in which the Reapers win, instead of ‘critical mission failure’.

For this reason, I understand why someone might be upset with the version given.

Touche.

Let me recommend a movie for you. The Great Escape starring Steve McQueen. Based on a true story, about the largest POW escape attempt ever made in history.

A lot of time, talents, and people were sacrificed for a specific goal in that movie, and the end resulted in a lot of death and very little results. Many would call that movie's ending mediocre because they didn't want what happened to happen.

It ends with the question asked by some of the characters, "Was it worth it?"

And the answer is given, "That depends on your point of view."

Go watch it. It's a great movie.

That may seem like it's a little off track, but the point is in the end of the movie, and trying to apply it to the game. Is it worth it?

All depends on your point of view. ;)

I almost missed this. Look, rejecting the Catalyst may result in the murder of every sentient species in the galaxy (and by the very hand you want to shake) but Shep is not complicit and that makes all the difference in the world to me. And no, there is simply no justifying slavery, genocide or the willful circumvention of inalienable human (and in this case alien) rights to me I'm afraid.

Wasn't attempting to justify anything. Just adding another point of view.
