The change did nothing to my Infiltrator running around Glacier nuking spawns.
The change will have a minor effect on how aggressively I charge objectives and downed teammates.
My best summary of the current changes: misguided.
We're all using Phoenix anyways.
The day we start balancing around veteran players nuking predictable spawns on small maps, we are all screwed.
That isn't what happened at all.

Have a shot gun infiltrator for one of them and it seems some times TC drops after i use cryo despite taking the upgrade that is suppose to let me use one power.
But it could be more related to the fact that sometimes i find my self dropping out of cloak right away, cool downs and everything.

I'm doing fewer revives and 4-device objectives now. When I'm with a good team, it's not a problem. Carrying others though, this just slows everyone down and results in fewer credits.
Teams that absolutely needed an Infiltrator to succeed never had any business playing Gold in the first place. Or at least they shouldn't be able to expect to be successful all the time seeing as they are Silver players playing Gold.

The balance all things type of nerf would have been better. Not good but at least better.

Nope. Damage changes were all that was needed.
Typical nerf stuff, though. Just blindly accept the suggestion of what needs to be done by a few players in the forum instead of actually thinking about what would be best...
It's been business as usual and was exactly what I expected to happen.
Perhaps next time Eric will just quote the idea he's going to use, make the change and release the change all in the same day. Would take far less time and make that one person really proud.

It's not about them. It's about me. Just makes it harder for me to find a good game and reduces incentive to play it.

I've played with a lot of 'Silver' players on Gold so perhaps that skews my perspective. Maybe I should stick to solo Gold runs instead of the PUG crapshoot.

This sums up the whole thing. Great players (which are in minority) would not be affected by this. Only ''casual/bad/noob/whatever you want to call them'' players (and that is 80% of community) will suffer from it. And considering that only good players are really OP with Infilatrators, the problem will remain. Result - problem remains, the class got worse and we will see more "beoware plz nerf infeltrators its op thnx" treads.

By multishot, I meant indra and the like, not Bw or valiant. I just wanted to keep it short, cause the ipad isnt exactly ideal for "forumizing". There are no real life sniper rifles that have assault rifle characteristics. Sniper rifles are for stopping power from a distance: damage and accuracy are the traits that make a sniper rifle.

The Balance All the Things nerf made sense, this nerf doesn't.

Which Shotgun are you using? If it is the GPS, charge it, then cloak.

I dont mind the base damage decrease, and I dont use enough sniper rifles to comment on the rank 6 change. But, I felt that the duration change killed a lot of the flexibility of the infiltrator class.

But does it really matter if you are happy with the nerf or not?
Or does it simply matter how many people keep on playing one thing and not another?

Now I am doing better, because with the shorter duration I get my shots in quicker.

? maybe you don't understand the change. Nerf was both to sniper damage and cloak duration - no matter what you do the class is weaker, its just a matter of how much.
I will adjust to this change, but if I continue to play infiltrator they will just nerf it some more.

No I am not. The Sniper Rifle damage should not have been touched. In the class description in all three games it is mentioned that the class is especially proficient with Sniper Rifles. Last I check no other class's description mentions them being trained to use Sniper Rifles. Why people thought the Infiltrator's Sniper Rifle damage bonus should have been nerfed to level the playing field is beyond me. Bad weapon design led to a bad balance change.
You do realize that the SR damage bonus was functionally providing a 100%+ damage bonus rather than 40% right?
I will admit I did not know that. Now was it providing an extra 60% more damage due to some bug or error on Bioware's part? Or was it because of how the damage bonuses are calculated. If it was because of some bug or error on Bioware's part why not just fix it instead of fixing it and knocking off another 15% for good measure?

Yes, it may be weaker, but gear and amps make it near enough the same, so I don't really mind/care.

I am doing better with Infs now.
I have most of my Infs specced for damage, and so now I have to be both quicker and make sure the damage counts = more fun.
The other Infs I've specced for duration and I get a kick out of thinking of tactical opportunities to use that advantage.
I like that I now have two distinct play-styles, independent of how I load out the chars.
I am also enjoying the ridiculous crying of all the people who choose to whine and rain down tears instead of adapting to the challenge and learning to succeed.

It's a multiplicative bonus. This is intended and probably and artifact from SP (it worked that way for SP and they didn't think that needed to change for MP).Invellous wrote...

That being said, I'm not pleased that they caved to forum whining to make changes in the first place, or, even more pathetic (if you actually believe it) because a class was "too popular". They've now set the precedent for future nerfs and "opened the floodgates" so to speak.

I don't mind the changes made, it just means that teams will have to L2P and use teamwork more now that I won't be doing things solo in a team game.

Agree. If they continue to nerf it nobody will play it. In effect they are trying to get less people to play it ( the driving element in doing the nerf if you can believe what bioware said why they were looking into it ).
So, I'd like to know the distribution of classes played on Gold before and after this nerf. Then you will get a clue on what they nerf next.
