If there is even a second of the game containing Tallis or any other character from Redemption I won't go near it as I'm hoping for a more intelligent and mature Origins approach. And please no more Anders!
I've killed Anders twice now, it better not be a case of third times a charm in DA3 <_<

I'd very much like more insight into Qunari culture and/or the Kossith. In my opinion Maraas, the Kossith who abandoned both the Qun and the Tal'Vashoth, would make for good companion material. I also think a Saarebas companion would be interesting as well. And I'd be extremely surprised if Cullen didn't show up in some form. He seems like the obvious shoe-in, considering the inevitable mage-templar conflict.

Oh god, please no more cameos.cameos
The ones from Dragon Age II were so horrifically handled that they reeked of fan service. I'd rather not have cameos again, especially not if Bioware are going to handle them as poorly as before.
Integral to the plot reappearances from old companions? Sure. If they're a major plot point, or a major NPC, or come back as a major companion. I can accept that, but otherwise? Please, Gods, no more cameos.
*Ahem*.. Sorry. As for Companions..
I'd like to see Feynriel again. His powers as a Mage were interesting and he oozes potential. Given he ends up in Tevinter, he could also end up offering more insight into the culture and a less.... Crazy? Point of view on their politics. (And yes, i'm aware Feynriel can die under certain circumstances, just like Leliana and Anders.)
I'd also like to see a Chasind of some kind. Whether it's a Man or a Woman. Warrior or Rogue. I don't care. I'd like to learn more about the Chasind, i'd like further insight into their cultures and history, and the best way to learn lore is through companions.
Though i doubt it'll happen - I'd also like to see Sebastian Vael return as a fully fledged companion. I don't expect this to be popular, Sebastian isn't the most popular character, and his very small fan base would prefer to see his story "end" at Dragon Age II.
However. At the end of Dragon Age II, whether he remains with Hawke or not, Sebastian's story simply isn't finished.
If he leaves Hawke, then he's sworn to retake Starkhaven.
If he remains with Hawke, then Starkhaven is still being ruled by a simpleton.
Sebastian is a man of conviction. He's full of passion, and while he might be devoted to the Chantry, he has an unyielding sense of justice that has a tendency to overrule all his religious beliefs. He simply, under no circumstances, would let the Starkhaven issues lie. It's not who he is.
Sebastian Vael was not a fully fledged companion in Dragon Age II, he was a tacked on DLC character, and he was not given the space to grow into himself. He has admirable qualities and a history that is intriguing. Most importantly, his story has been left untold.
He has the potential to return as a future companion, and in my opinion, he has the potential to be a truly amazing creation. Assuming he's handled correctly by Bioware.
Then again, that's entirely my opinion. Feel free to rip it to pieces

Yes, more Sebastian! He has every opportunity to become an awesome character. I also hope that we will see more of Sebastian Vael, but I think he has more potential as an antagonist. With his family killed, and having witnessed the destruction of the chantry by a mage, he has every reason for being a paranoid zealot seeking revenge . And as the potential ruler of the biggest city state in the Free marches, he can become very powerful indeed. He is not evil however, and unlike Meredith in DA2, the PC will have the opportunity to change his mind. Maybe he could have the same role that Loghain had in origins.
I also hope we see more Chasind. It would be awesome to have a strong chasind character, uniting the different tribes and creating an army who becomes a real threat to the lands of Thedas. Either as a companion, or a NPC.

Also, I want a companion that has a romantic relationship with another one of my companions (maybe a love triangle). For example, maybe one of my companions is seeing Bethany, and me as Hawke (if she survives DA 2) I don't want to be the only one getting laid. It takes the seriousness out of the picture, even if it's just for a second.

I want my bro-dog Mabari back >:I and less angst, seriously. I felt like I was in a soap opera during DA2 with all the swooning, angst and ****ing from the majority of characters. Need option for punching.

Please for the love of all the is holy, kill anders already! He turned into this whinny lil biatch!
Not a fan of the Cullen idea... Love the idea of making starkhaven an issue... Love the idea of Fennryl although, he is a little whinny too and I may regret saying that. Hawkes surviving sibling, if they are a warden, its bonus! Talis is okay, I could live with that.
If the cameo was done in DA3 like it was in ME3, that would be great! Side quest/stories that lead to something. Except, really, kill of anders already.

I feel like Cassandra has to be a companion because of the role she played in DA2. Either that or she is a major NPC. Same goes for Leliana (being an NPC, not a companion).
Cullen would be great as a companion. He has to be in the game in some way. A companion would be the best option but if not, than a NPC would have to do (however very very very disapointing).
Feynriel would be a good companion. I would love to learn more about his magic as well as Tevinter. Especially the politics.
I also want more brand new characters that haven't been in either of the previous games in any way. A dwarf from Kal-Sharok maybe? I know they are a reclusive people but maybe this one got exiled some how. It would just be cool to learn a bit more about the other surviving dwarven city.
Hawke or the Warden shouldn't be companions. It would be awesome to see them in the game but my biggest fear, with the Warden, is that when you meet him/her they're not what you picture your Warden from your DA:O story to be. One of the only ways I see that working is if when your PC talks to the Warden you controll both ends of the conversation. This way you know that your Warden is going to act exactly the way you want him/her to.
One of the things I didn't like in DA2 was the fact that the LI were all bisexual. The characters should all have their own sexual orientation and not change them depending on wether your PC is a male or a female. In DA:A, Anders was complete womanizer and funny as hell. When I found out he was DA2 I couldn't wait to have him join the party..... but then he came on to my male Hawke and I was confused and pissed off. I was pissed off because the Anders I remember wasn't any where near gay. He was straight and should have remained so.

I would not like to see cameos or companions of previous games in the next Dragon Age if it parallels an existing Dragon Age game or if it takes place in a completely different part of Thedas than the previous two.

I really DON'T want Hawke's siblings as companions, I mean they're Hawke's siblings, they should stay in DA2.
As for new companions I'd like a mage from Tevinter (I'd like to hear about Tevinter from someone who actually likes it), a chevalier (a must if the setting is Orlais) and a dalish elf. I really like the dwarf from Khal-sharok idea. I'd also like a companion from Nevarra just to learn a little bit more about it.
I don't mind if LI's are "bisexual", that way the players can romance who they like. I just want the romance to be completely nonexistant or very vague (like Zevran offering massage) if the player doesn't flirt first. Leliana was wonderfully done I thought. If you didn't pick the obviously flirty lines you could be nice to her, become friends and chat about shoes and would never know she was a romance option for female PC. I hear with Anders you could only accept or reject him very rudely and lose a lot of friendship points so I wouldn't want to see a romance like that.

I would love Nyree from Redemption, with the same actor to voice her please. If not her, then a female mercenary Reaver that is very much like her. That character was awesome. And/or a male character who is very much like Jayne Cobb from Firefly. A bad-ass self-serving companion who will cost you plenty of coin to gain their loyalty would be great.
I like this idea, a self serving mercenary who is in it for the money and for the thrill of battle.
Similar to Korgan Bloodaxe from Baldurs Gate, I loved that crazy Dwarf.

But, generally, I want to explore new people. You can only do the same path so many times.
Maybe a more traditional dwarf? We've had Oghren, who was really drunk, and Varric, who was very surfacey. And Sigrun, who was pretty dwarfy, but was also casteless. And didn't have a beard. With no beard, dwarfness is instantly disqualified. Obviously.
I heard someone mention a Tevinter magister. That could be interesting, I suppose.
Maybe an elf from one of the alienages? I suppose another Dalish companion might be nice, providing they aren't a Mage ala Merill, but to be honest I've always preferred city elves. Hanging 'bout in the city, and whatnot.

I'd say where's the roguish buddy? Where's my Han Solo? I've never had a Han Solo like companion in a game. In fact, rather more generally I'd just like to see the companions be less... second string. I don't want them, whoever they are, to feel like they're just there to follow you, like they accept being a sidekick of sort. I want someone who takes charge, has ideas of their own. How about a companion that YOU might just follow along once or twice, someone where they're the guy with the plan and the goal and the important thing and you're just sort of their along for the ride for a little while.

But, yeah. To be honest, I'd like all companions to take a more active stance in your decision making. You should still have the choice to ignore them, but it can be really odd when they just stand there while you make a decision and then suddenly you get approval/rivalry/etc. for seemingly no reason.

Like if you played the stone prisoner DLC in DAO, you get Shale again, and if Carver or Bethany became an grey warden in DA2, you get them as an companion too(just to make it feel like your choices in the previous game has an serious effect at the beginning of the new game).
But I would love to see Tallis, Oghren, Varric(it would be fun to hear those 2 talk with each other) and Zevran in DA3

I didn't kill him in Origins, but I haven't played the expansions. When given the after he did what he did, I did kill him in DA2. I'll probably do it again in the new playthrough I'm doing. I agree with you, if he shows up in DA3, after I killed him in DA2, I'll be a little put off.
