Diablo 3 was flawed but not an absolutely cluster f*** like this game was.

Also we're only halfway through the year. We still have Assassin's Creed 3, Black Ops 2 and Guild Wars 2. One of those will almost definitely get it.

Assassino Creedo!!!!

Black Ops 2 looks boring, but it does look different to other CoD's but I ain't buying it. MW3 is my last CoD, just as Mass Effect 3 will probably be my last Bioware game. Unless their DA2 gets absolute praise from BSN

The ending is still terrible. The EC just added a few still images at the end, and more plot holes. Besides ME3 has a lot more problems than just the ending.

Does not even deserved to be the worst game of the year. Just to be forgotten along with BEWARE

You'd be forgiven for thinking that they intentionally delayed the game to not be curb-stomped by Skyrim... (assuming these things work by calender years)

Personally, I'm hoping for Baldur's Gate to win because that would be utterly hilarious :D

Dishonored FTW! Steampunk, original...

And please Bull**** like CoD...

Answering to OP: No, Bioware treated the consumers badly, so sorry, at least with the EC the game improved, but there're other problems in the game.

The EC made the ending mediocre at best, and in a game series that's focused very heavily on story, that would be a pretty big liability. Ending aside, there are still many other problems with ME3 that disqualify it (fetch quests, shoddy journal system, increased linearity, autodialogue, etc).

My personal pick is either Halo 4, Borderlands 2, or Assassin's Creed 3. Possibly Dishonored as well if it blows expectations out of the water.

I think so, either by the game, as for the entire series.
Many people complain about the auto dialogue, you guys know they can turn off this option? This is TOTALLY optional!
I think sometimes people complain because they want to complain ... ¬ ¬

Was a great game and I'm glad what they did for the endings, really improved the game itself. But I don't think it will win. ME2 winning GOTY was well deserved. ME3.............not so much.

How can you pick those games over ME3 when you haven't even played them yet? Silly.

This thread asks if ME3 deserves GotY. I said no, and chose those games because I believe they'll be even better than ME3. There haven't been many other high-profile releases this year so far, so one must look to games yet to be released this year. Doesn't matter if they're out yet or not. Yes, some of them might be disappointments, but conjecture is all we have to go on until they're released.

Are you seriously saying that Mass Effect 3 is the worst game released this year? You... wow.

Dishonored is the only game I am really looking forward to this year. I guess ME3 will still win easily. ME3 has tons of good dialogue, great voice acting, good graphics, fun gameplay, great soundtrack and difficult decisions. It's not perfect but it is one of the few games that at least tries to use the medium for interactive storytelling that is not possible with other mediums.

I agree. Besides, what other games are coming out this year that could beat it? ACIII? No way.

Why do you people even care about GOTY awards anyways? I see a lot of people on here who rants on about game journalists being paid by the game companies etc., and that you don't take them seriously because of that. So why do you care?

Inb4 "entitled" whiners complaining about the ending

Okay, that went way faster then I expected.

Game of the Year, no doubt. Seriously, these people that dissaprove of the ending and say it's no GOTY because of it are the cancer of the internet, and our society. Yeah, I just said it.

I had hope in humanity, but the continous stupidity from some of us is just flat out depressing.

No. A true GOTY would have been done right the first time. The ending on the CD is horribad.

I will however elect ME3: Extended Cut for the "Nongameplay DLC of the Year" award.

I would say "I had hope in humanity" when you said that but I haven't had hope in us in ages so I'll just go with:
NO.
