It's the best game I've played that has come out this year, that's all I can really say.

All i have seen is people saying no, because the endings suck and Me3 doesn't deserve it.
If you judge a game by the endings then your opinion is flawed. And yes Me3 is a good game and it deserves to bea candidate for Game of the year.

Even without the endings ME3 had plenty of problems. It just compounds them.

Me3 didn't have many problems in my opinion. And i can give you critics and fans reviews to tell you that Me3 deserves to be a candidate for Game of the year. People don't want it to be Game of the Year because they are upset about the endings.

The same way BioWare quoted reviews from Metacritic at us which said the ending was fantastic pre-EC. So reviews don't count for sh*t. That being said, on the whole ME3 was an excellent game (minus the ending) and now since we have the EC, I actually like the entire game.  Not as much so as I did ME2, but it was still good.

That being said, I don't think it should win game of the year. Candidate, sure, but not win.

The same way that fans and critics say Me3 is a good game. To say that it shouldn't win Game of the Year. Theyear not being over and most games not have released is shocking. People can't even wait for most games tobe released to say if it is Game of the Year material or not. Is it so hard to do. I think most people here don't wantit to win Game of the Year, because of the endings. That means they are upset.

It doesn't deserve GOTY because the game had a lot of flaws to it.

They don't deserve it.

Not after what they did with my shepard. One big NO.

Hmm, I've not played nearly all of the 2012 games for PC yet, but the ones I have...
  • Max Payne 3
  • Mass Effect 3
  • Alan Wake (and American Nightmare) -- although, technically, isn't it really a "re-release" or "port"
  • Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
I think that's all of the ones I've played released since January 2012.

I'd have to give the golden crown to Max Payne 3 right now, although my vote might change later on, depending on my mood of the time. Mass Effect 3 was really good, and so was Alan Wake and follow-up. Overall though, I'd have to say MP3 won out by just a smidgen.

Besides,I don't think ME2 is any better than ME3 for its short main storyline. It's Mass Effect not Squadmates Effect.

BioWare games never flawless.ME2's issues were way more than ME3's.

It's only the beginning of July and we still have the fall/winter lineup of AAA titles to come.

Awarding ME3 GOTY already is very premature. And don't forget, since Witcher 2 technically "came out" this year for consoles, that will likely also be a GOTY nominee. Does anyone think ME3 would be able to beat out Witcher 2 if GOTY voting was held right now?

The likelihood of ME3 winning GOTY with all the AAA titles yet to come is pretty slim.

The ME series has me spoiled to the point where I cannot really play anything else happily. I am open to this idea the extended cut truly fixed what was once a horrible ending. to an amazing series.

No, it has problems. Objective problems, ones that can't be subverted by your opinion.

Sidequests were ****.
The journal was ****.
The ending is ****.
Apart from new characters were bad introduced, the old ones were bad developed, the resources and decisions were pointless like Rachni, I felt like have never played ME1 and ME2 with a lot of stupid questions (for example), etc... So no, ME3 doesnt deserve to be GOTY from my point of view.

I'd definitely have it on the ballot and since I can't be impartial, I'd probably vote for it. There's more to a game than just the ending. I didn't really have a problem with the endings but they're not how I wanted things to turn out. But that's how it goes. The game itself is still really fun to play, and I'm constantly playing the MP. But just my opinion, again, not sure if it'll win, but definitely ballot worthy.

Diablo 3 is just absolutely horrendous. It's not even a game. More like a career. They gave you a $10 game and just had you replay it multiple times. Why play it on a harder difficulty? To get better gear of course! Why get better gear? For.. no.. reason.. whatsoever. I suppose pvp is coming, but is that reason to farm content you've already played through 4 previous times? I'm not even talking about the bugs, I'm just talking from a gameplay/fun perspective. Simply the worst thing I've ever played that was called a game. Well, no, but it's definitely down there with others. Of course this one will be on the ballot due to its hype as well as ME3.

Dragon's Dogma is a great game. Has its bugs/downsides (lol.. voice acting is horrible) but the gameplay and world are so phenomenally fun. I wish DA would use the same engine. That'd be awesome, climbing on dragons and trolls and giants. Man.. that would be a sweet ass game. The major downfall is that DD is only on consoles. So for Goty, I think it should be available on all platforms, but DD could easily win PS3 or 360 goty.

The only game I think will beat ME3 this year (for me) would be borderlands 2. The first one is just so much fun. A nice light game with plenty of style and action. Very fun to play, and rewarding. Still has to come out, and we'll see.. could suck major balls. Gearbox is generally hit and miss. One of their games I'll love, and others.. absolutely hate. Duke Nukem forever? Lol. Glad I avoided that.. just wish I had avoided D3 too.

Again, we're only half way through the year, so who knows what will launch and capture it. I'm hoping for something to come completely out of nowhere, but.. that's unlikely. At least I can look forward to more ME3 dlc and possibly an announcement about future ME games!

It astounds me that so many people forget Dishonored. And some people easily knock off Halo 4. Just because it is sequel shooter, it get disqualified? BS. people didn't see footage. Also, isn't Last of Us coming this year?

Some people say people are saying no because of endings. No. I am one of those players who was willing to forgive other flaws if the endings were good, but no. The ending made us realize flaws that we were trying to forgive.

I'd likely put Kingdoms of Amalur above ME3 at this point. Also, at the moment, I'm really digging Dragon's Dogma way more than I expected I would. Not sure why so many people bashed on it. So far, it's pretty outstanding.

The ending is still terrible. The EC just added a few still images at the end, and more plot holes. Besides ME3 has a lot more problems than just the ending.
