Some people, it seems, will find anything to complain about. Unhappy people who are determined to stay that way will... the Extended Cut was great. I really thought it refocused the ending on the little picture, allowed those who were unhappy with the rhetoric to reject the Catalyst - or even shoot him in the face (in a mildly hilarious "easter-egg" sort of way), and ultimately made the ending feel like the end of the story. It was FANTASTIC.

It was never going to be perfect, but I really think this makes the ending satisfying and greatly improves the quality of the story experience overall. I even teared up a little when Ashley was holding Shepard's name plackard for the wall that now had Anderson and EDI on it.

Thanks Bioware :)

I look forward to whatever comes next....er, "another story" :P

Seconded!

My expectations were pretty low coming in. They did a great job. I loved shep being shep when talking to the catalyst. I loved the catalyst going reaper voice on you during refusal. I loved the liara goodbye scene during the run to the beam.

I think destroy is the best ending. Shepard must live so he can find his love interest. I played to win and a happy ending to me is one with shep + liara and with reaper threat gone.

I also agree, the EC did exactly what it needed to do. Fleshed out starchild, added meat to the endings, showed the consequences of your choices on those who lived and died.

The beam-run extraction is a touch far-fetched, but emotional enough to justify its own existence, and it does indeed clear up the squadmates plot hole.

Thumbs up, BioWare. You delivered.
