No. Players who have no problem playing low-level characters and don't care if they ever get "free" experience points again would lose.E71 wrote...

I don't see why we couldn't have both character cards and the new rare consumables in the first place.
Which is why I suggested char cards should only be dropped when you don't have all six characters at level 20.
Everybody wins.
I promote. I don't do so to increase my N7 score (though that is an obvious side effect) or to test new builds (I don't mind waiting for a respec card if it's important I try out a different full build) but because sometimes I enjoy playing low-level characters. My level 1 engineer owned a bronze match with her Tempest SMG and I enjoyed it very much; had I played that same character in a silver match with her Hurricane, she would have remained viable and leveled even faster. The people desirous of rare character cards (who have already fully unlocked the characters) are lazy - too lazy to work for their levels and too lazy to work for their N7 score/promotions. Simple as that.
Accuracy is the ultimate defense against your criticism.E71 wrote...

So, just to be clear, Bioware should cater to your desire to not only frequently promote (why?) but to gain credits as fast as possible (again, why promote?), so that you can max all your weapons, so that you can quit playing the game? Talk about a [lazy] fringe playstyle...
I think earlier post explains it well enough:E71 wrote...
I find MP somewhat boring now but the only reason I'm still playing is because of my OCD-like need to complete my weapons collection.
To do that, I like to play Gold with a level 20 character -- I'm not too keen on playing with level 1s or level 10s. I constantly promote to experiment with different setups to see which ones help me beat Gold
quickest and with least amount of effort & stress.
The annoyance from manual leveling-up stems from how time consuming it is. In fact, the last time I got involved in multiplayer gaming I ended up losing 10 years of my life -- it affected studies, work, relationships,
social life and what not. Even though ME3 MP will likely not last more than a year or two, I'd like to avoid falling back into my old lifestyle.
I'd gladly use Power Respec cards instead of promoting but Bioware's decision to limit them to 3 and other people reporting how difficult it is for them to get hold of more even when they have none has forced me to hoard mine.
Don't go around calling people lazy -- it makes you sound cheap and unwilling to understand.

Well if they had to play to earn the credits, to buy packs, that give them cards, Then wouldn't that sort of deflate your whole too lazy argument?
Nope. 250,000 experience points is the equivalent of a silver match-plus - it's a ridiculous amount to give away, rare card or not. Three gold matches followed by the purchase of two PSPs under the old system could provide bonus experience (1,000,000) equivalent to 4-5 additional silver matches...again, ridiculous. The existence of those rare character cards is why there are so many ridiculously high N7 ratings, making those numbers something completely independent of actual gameplay. The fact that packs can also be bought with real money further deflated the value of XP.xtorma wrote...

If you want to gain the most credits in the easiest way possible, don't promote. If you can't be bothered to level up your characters through play, don't promote. If your desire to experiment is so powerful that you can't hold out for a respec card during this process where your only goal is to max out your inventory, take your medicine. It's not as if you would be guaranteed a rare character card of the class you're looking to respec under the old system anyway.
It's all a lot of lazy nonsense. You can easily reach a gold-capable level in 2-3 silver matches (while still making enough money to buy at least 3 veteran packs which could include character cards to level even faster) from level 1. It makes no sense for the system to cater to you if you are unwilling to actually play the game. If you want to play the store, there's always the option to spend real money to do so...
Good for you. Hopefully, the 3-4 other folks who hate the game will also settle down after the current system is in place for a week or two.E71 wrote...

If I play several Gold games a day to earn credits I've proven myself not be lazy. If I have to spend those precious few hours I have each day leveling up characters, earning half the credits on Silver -- I consider that a waste of my time. Avoiding promotion is not an option because we constantly need to tweak our characters and waiting on power respec cards to drop can add a serious delay. I mean, who knows, it may take weeks to get another.
I also never said the old system would give you cards for the exact class you're looking for, hence the suggestions about smart character card drops. They used to at the very least reduce the number of games I'd have to play to level up to 20. If they make the system smart then it'll fully replace power respec cards with the added bonus of a chance to get an Ultra-rare.
Obviously I'm wasting my time trying to explain things to you since you have a very stubborn attitude and probably think you know everything better than anyone. This is my last post on this thread.
