You're missing the point. The reason to buy PSPs is the chance at an Ultra-Rare, it's completely bogus to suggest we give that up. The experience from Rare character cards wasn't the reason to buy PSPs, it was just a nice something that promoters used.
And under because of the character cards I ran out of consumables while chasing UR's and getting a whole lot of expensive nothing.
Promoters can promote, they just have the choose between ranking up their characters OR get consumables AND a chance for ultra-rares.

Uncommon character cards are now replaced by LVL 2 consumables
Bioware doesn't seem to think so.

When I bought PSPs in search of Ultra-Rares, I was at least gaining N7 rank when I pulled character cards (what I did was save up a few million credits, then promote and splurge so my classes would be adequately leveled up again for playing). Now I'm not gaining anything, I rarely even use equipment so the level IV items are useless to me.
A good compromise I heard in another thread was having character cards show up only if the class is below level 20. So non-promoters would still mean ammo, while people like me could still gain experience we desire. I'm unsure if this is something that can be done with a hot-fix to the store or if it would require a patch, but Bioware should consider it either way.
Gaining N7 rank? Gaining E-peen size is more important than ARMOR PIERCING AMMO IV?
If you are a Gold gamer, you would realize how important it is to use ammo types. Use a Turian Soldier with a Revenant with AP Ammo, use a Reegar with AP ammo, use Disruptor ammo with chain overload and watch things DIE.
You don't like your classes being low level? Then don't promote, makes your game easier anyway.
As I said earlier, this now gives you a choice: Spam Recruit or Veteran packs and gain exp, or buy SP's and PSP's and gain high-powered ammo and a chance for UR. Characters and experience, or ammo and guns. No one lost anything.

one can only hope that nobody would want the Character cards back.

But they could make a new pack and everybody would be happy again.

I got sick and tired of getting maxed character cards in PSP's and basically wasting huge amounts of time hoarding credits, and I'm not about to endorse undoing THE single best change to Multiplayer since its inception.

Just curious - why do you rarely use equipment? Equipment is orsum! (This is a genuine question.)
1) I like knowing exactly what I'm capable of with just my class and weapons. If I add any kind of equipment then I start to lose that awareness and that could eventually bite me later when I try to do something I don't have the equipment for.
2) I don't want to buy JEPs on a regular basis to keep up my supply. I play more matches than I spend credits really, since I usually save up to have a few million before splurging on PSPs to try and nab Ultra-Rares.
3) I'm a hoarder
Regardless of all that, since I'll end up getting a ton of level IV equipment in the near future, I'll probably start using it just because.
Thanks for the response! Looking at your manifest it's clear you're not too OCD about 3).
Which you clearly aren't! - I liked 1) very much: it's not how I do things, but having read your opinion I fully respect that.

I think those that promote should now ask for a boon for promotion. Since it is tough to level your character/classes perhaps you should recieve some kind of promotion pack. I am so happy that I will never receive a character card again unless there is a dlc. Thank you bioware.

I was sick of getting the same damn character cards. At least I can use the ammo powers. If the cards were really that big a deal, just stop promoting or play with XP bonuses.
