I like the idea of an MMO but others don't, but what i thought would be better and something for both sides would be an MMO from the same prespective as the last three games, (or 1st person, if im not the only one who would like a 1st ME game.) The prespective and play style of Old Republic is what put my off the most but it looks like the story and characters where good and a Mass Effect MMO would be unstopable.
But i think what ever the next game is it should be in a different cycle, past or future.
what if they don't do an MMO

So, your plan for those who don't like MMOs is to make... a 3rd person cover shooter MMO? You don't think that those that oppose any and all MMOs might be opposed to the idea of an MMO in general, and not the perspective?
Personally, I think MMOs cannot possibly work because the industry seems to be determined to use the flawed subscription model - if you pay the company by the time you spend playing, they'll make a long game but what you want is a good game (e.g. in SWTOR you have to spend an hour a day driving in circles and collecting crates. Literally. I'm not making this up.).
This is the kind of problem you'd need to address to convince me to buy a ME MMO. Not silly nonsense about perspective.

They already have SWTOR, no way their going to scrape up the money to make another MMO, money doesnt grow on trees even if its an EA garden.

Although I've had fun playing MMOs before, I'm a bigger fan of single player RPGs. So if the Mass Effect series lives on beyond Mass Effect 3 I'd be happier to see Mass Effect IV announced, rather than an MMO.

I'd be pleased. Very. Nothing would ruin the ME universe more for me than an MMO. Not interested in the slightest! Give me more stellar single player RPG adventures (yessss!!!), or more ME multiplayer akin to what we have now with ME3 (which I thought I would despise and which I was greatly upset about them adding to ME3, but which I have turned out to love and am completely addicted to....)

Bioware has commented that a Mass Effect-MMO is possible, but I doubt that they ever will develop it though. I for one would love an MMO in the Mass Effect universe, but I would actually prefer if another studio developed it so it wont affect newer ME singleplayer games from Bioware.

They are not going to do a Scifiction MMO to compete with Star Wars MMO, especially after this fall out. Star wars has a bigger following.

They aren't going to make an MMO anytime soon. They already have SWTOR, why would they compete with themselves?
Maybe in 10 years. I doubt I'll care by then.

If the Star Wars brand can't carry an MMO then, as much as I love the trilogy, Mass Effect has no chance.
The MMO market is over-saturated at the moment and even the best can fail to find a niche in the market.

That depends on what they'll use as influence for an mmo ME isn't a midevil hack n slash, it isn't a myst giant exploration and puzzle solving game, if they use EVE to start thats all ships and ships and ships. I can't help but think they'll make it one big ship fairing, corridor shooter, with tons of rachni nest to snuff out with poor graphics lots of grinding and 10 year old smack talkers who sole purpose is to drive as many people as possible to log out. Not to mention I'm sure they'll gouge everyone with fees and expensive charges for guns, new outfits, and new maps nothing will be free or if it is it'll be very low quality and lame.

Honestly I would play that MMO. I like MMOs only because I have control over them and they dont have control over me. it took a while to get there though, but I would definitely play a Mass Effect MMO.

it's not the right playstyle for an MMO. I think they'd ruin mass effect forever, much like they ruined KOTOR with TOR.

bEAware's current track record is just crap. any1 at bEAware that even considers an MEMMO at the moment should be disappeared in the dead of night.

If they don't? I'll dance the night away. ME doesn't need to be an MMO. Neither did Elder Scrolls. LET ME KEEP ONE OF MY CHERISHED FRANCHISES SINGLE PLAYER *sob*

I would have said the a ME MMO was very likely if you asked me last year. After playing SWTOR - I think Bioware recognizes that you can't just apply a story-driven 1P RPG on top of the same WoW/EQ mechanics. So they'd have to come up with something very different.
I'm not sure what they'd do with playstyle. But heaven knows the ME universe could easily support an MMO, and there's no reason it would have to kill any further 1P ME games, either, anymore than SWTOR prevents future Star Wars games or an Elder Scroll MMO precludes another full 1P Elder Scrolls game. Still, it will take a few years of sorting out SWTOR before Bioware can consider another MMO.

I think the mess that is SWTOR has put any thought of a Mass Effect MMO on hold for a considerable amount of time, if not indefinitely.
The market for MMOs is brutal, the development time and cost is staggering and the restrictions the genre puts on game and story design are extremely challenging to work with.
If we're lucky, they'll abandon the thought entirely and not hurt the franchise with one.

As much as I love MMO games, turning the ME franchise to a MMO will completly end it. There will be no more Mass Effect as we know it. PLEASE GOD! No MMO!
